A Call To Love Life

1 Peter 3:8 Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another;

love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; 

9 not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing,

knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. 

We are called into a new way of life with others who may have

previously reviled you, or have been reviled by you. 

Learning to receive and be a blessing is the high calling.

10 For:

He who would love life
And see good days,
Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
And his lips from speaking deceit.
11 Let him turn away from evil and do good;
Let him seek peace and pursue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

The fear of God in a believer's life is found

with the knowledge that nothing will remain hidden:

Hebrews 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight,

but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him

to whom we must give account.

 

This is the fuller understanding of being born again.

John 3:

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,

that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 

17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,

but that the world through Him might be saved.

18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe

is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of

the only begotten Son of God. 

19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world,

and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 

20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light,

lest his deeds should be exposed. 

21 But he who does the truth comes to the light,

that his deeds may be clearly seen,

that they have been done in God.

James 3:

It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 

9 With it we bless our God and Father,

A Call To Love Life

Hmmm, for what good purpose though? Seems Paul was torn between any earthly benefits and eternal gain; to the end that he remained satisfied to serve for the benefit of the Saints that Jesus would call to Himself, through the Holy Spirit's mission, for the purpose of pleasing His Father.
