Why Homosexuality?Is It Of God?

Homosexuality is not a new lifestyle that sprang up on modern times. It has its roots since the beginning of human civilization. The first book of the Holy Bible itself mentions about two great cities full of people who practiced homosexuality. Later in the second part of the Bible [Romans;1;19-32]It is explained why people are turned into homosexuals. This part states that homosexuality is a situation in which some people are fallen into as a result of not obeying God.The Bible says,

Homosexuality is a sin. Period.

In the past there was no remedy for this sin.Only wrath and destruction followed.God rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah which practiced homosexuality.

No doubt homosexuality is a sin according to Gods word, but this isn't the main reason that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed...

As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters. Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

This was the iniquity of Sodom: pride, fulness of bread, abundance of idleness, not helping the poor and needy. On top of all that, they were haughty and committed abomination before God.

Ezekiel 16, verses 48 to 50

PRIDE seems to be at the root of it.

In the Old Testament, those who did certain sins were put to death. In the New Covenant people are simply called (through Christ) to put to death their sinful carnal nature--and live.

A person can find power over temptation:

Luk 10:19 KJV Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Instead of allowing temptation to seduce you, you have absolute authority delegated to you over temptation and the Devil.

Whenever necessary, resist the Devil with the authority of God's Word (Biblical Truth):

Jer 23:29 KJV Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination.

Lev 18:27 For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which [were] before you, and the land is defiled;

Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.

I am glad you pointed that out Jamie. I was wondering...what do you all think of the abundance of idleness. What is "abundance of idleness"?

I dont know if you guys agree but in my opinion, what makes homosexuality a a sin are the homosexual actions/practices - physically manifested - but mere homosexual feelings/emotions CANNOT be considered a sin - its more of an "honest mistake." For instance, homosexuals normally are attracted to the same sex but such abnoraml feeling is something BEYOND their control and they never choose and wanted it in the 1st place. That itself cannot be considered sinful because at least, it is SELF-CONTROLLED. What sinful for me is are those homosexuals who have TANGIBLE (uncontrolled) homosexual acts and practices which ALTERS God's created image for humans (for men specifically) - eg cross dressing, gay/lesbian sexual relationships, transexual operations, etc.

What I mean is, homosexual people who MAINTAIN to their "homosexuality" controlled, limited and confined within the bounderies of the intangible realms (eg. feeling, thinking, etc) are AT LEAST TRYING to do the "lesser evil" - or the "least evil" possible and I think God at least credit such self-denial.
