The only way to cause inflation is to print money, and then spend it.  I hope you understand supply-and-demand and inflation are two different factors that can cause prices to rise, but one is caused when there is not enough supply to handle demand, and the other is caused by printing too much money, and then spending it in the market causing the dollar to inflate.

They are tracking the broken supply chain and describing why prices rise when supply drops on an item with high demand, and then they are calling it "supply driven inflation," a term meant to obfuscate.  Prices do rise when there is high demand and low supply, but it does not inflate the dollar making the dollar worth less.  It would be an honest article if they simply said that the broken supply chain causes prices to rise on items in that sector.  The broken supply chain is not the cause of inflation which is the devaluation of money, which causes prices to rise in all sectors.

 Hi and ha, I must be a slow learner! For I have lived on the coast within the heart of hurricane country for 46 years.

I never before last year ever bothered to board up. Never had damage either, even when the streets piled up with what used to be trees and the whole neighborhood pitched in and cleared it all before even city crews could begin to do their work on streets.

We were so organized the city came to our street first to pick up the organized six foot tall piles of tree limbs we had stacked all down one side of the road. Then we were without power for 10 hot days.

Last year I sensed a difference in one storm that was coming and bit the bullet for 26 sheets of plywood, boarded up then boogied off  to the mountains. Glad I did!

I have some windows already pre boarded  even today. The tv news is beeping away alert alert even now and chattering about a tropical storm coming in tomorrow and Monday.

I am pretty high at 39 feet about sea level so not especially concerned, except for damage that could  be done within the State that affects all insurance rates, like through the financial roof.

Just part  of life in these times. Again, maranatha!

We have an interesting contrast of individual, political, and biblical thoughts. As always, I seldom claim my views on anything are the correct views, we are all unique and different as snowflakes.

I hope you are not suggesting Trump's cowardice. We are in a battle of good vs. evil. The Bible makes it clear: freedom and prosperity are not free. God gave His chosen people the land of milk and honey, but not without a fight and the shedding of blood. God created a beacon on a hill in America by divine providence and blessing, but not without a fight.

Let me submit a military analogy, if I may. Look at the former and hopefully near future Commander-in-Chief as top General. A general usually commands, is adequately protected, and directs the battle from a distance. We are in a political and spiritual war of ideologies, morals, values, and the devil. The strategic goal in any war is to target the leadership if possible. A general usually is well beyond the years of a physical fighting man but is full of battlefield knowledge and wisdom from his years of experience and longevity.   

Those in attendance at his rallies are his workers or comparative troops.

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

An honorable, courageous, loving man will lay his life down for a loved one or friend on the battlefield, streets, and country if required. I did plenty of duck and cover in combat, a survival instinct. Dead soldiers or dead generals do not win wars and ideologies.

The Democratic party is the party of evil, death, and abominations as stated in their political platform, page 42 and elsewhere:

It says a lot about the courage of Trump and his supporters at that rally. Trump did not run away; he took cover. It took only seconds for the Trump crowd to realize a mass shooting was underway. They did not panic and stampede like a herd of cattle, causing hundreds of injuries and deaths.

Had that happened at a Biden rally, I believe the character of those self-serving individuals would have shined through. The Democratic Party is the antithesis of the following:

PAT´RIOT, n. [Fr. patriote, from L. patria, one’s native country, from pater, father.]

A person who loves his country, and zealously supports and defends it and its interests.

Such tears as patriots shed for dying laws.^[1]

Still, in most cases, one cannot escape the reality that a vote cast to someone other than the two major political parties is a wasted vote. I will, with good conscience and moral critical thinking, vote for the candidate who has a chance to win and will try to restrain evil the most. In other words, is closest to my Christian beliefs, morals, and values.  

The Lord established nations and human government. Christians are to participate and influence government and our leaders, being the salt and light. Salt is an antibiotic and preservative, and light exposes darkness. In our form of government, we can choose the lesser of two evils.

One who will encourage Merry Christmas and one who will subvert it to Happy Holidays. One who will unconditionally support Israel and has a track record, and one party who conditionally punishes Israel in their hour of need. As a nation, we are treading dangerous territory.

I have read that Alexander the Great's top generals said they trembled when he was near.  Whoa! What'd I say?  That implication should ignite some Trump-bashing comments.  And, General Milley??? Oh boy!  After his fiasco withdrawal from Afghanistan, he shouldn't be trusted with a Boy Scout Troop.

Wow, we sure do not see eye to eye, LOL.

I compare the Commander-in-Chief to a Six-Star General, a civilian over the military. All military personnel and the president take an “oath” to defend against foreign and domestic enemies. That oath does not expire upon exit from the military or office.

In my mind, General Milley was insubordinate, a seditious traitor who aided and abetted the enemy for political purposes, undermining the strategy and policies of the Commander-in-Chief. His job was to carry out his boss's orders. Under the UCMJ, he should have been summarily General Court Martialed and stood before a firing squad.  

Pence also turned into a disgrace and embarrassment for himself and his party. It was indisputable that widespread voter fraud occurred in the 2020 election, especially in swing states. Pence was instrumental in not overturning the election results when he could have made a significant difference, a Democrat in Republican clothing (RINO).

I guess I get confused based upon all the places you have said you have lived in the past. Hard to keep up......
Locals who live in the hurricane zone have usually already had plywood cut and numbered, small rectangle peep hole to see and relieve pressure, and slide bolts to install easily themselves. They have yearly hurricane awareness programs to get ready ahead of time, food water, full tank of gas, generators, toilet paper etc.

I don't know how many homes/businesses I have done while living there. Knowing they would call me to install as a hurricane got close I would number each sheet and draw a map on one where each went. And yes, they all wait too late and call the day before it hits.

Hi, Hard to keep up with all the posts from Trumpers and the questions aplenty. That and also be trying to keep in mind   all of us are trying to keep focus upon what our Lord wills for each of us.

Actually very few here on the Suncoast  prepare or board up. I have been around some I guess, but not on the move all that much, just from coast to coast to coast  over a long lifetime.

I keep trying to get to the mountains full time, but life gets in the way. And now age tells me; what are you thinking!? In a perfect scenario I would likely return to Little Squam Lake, NH, but this is not a perfect world is it?

Oh just had one of those flashbacks, back to when  the Gulf of Mexico did come through a family member's beach house, 12 feet worth of sea took out all the power roll  up hurricane blinds on both floors, made spears out of each piece of blind.  The inside of the house when it was all over looked like a porcupine with spears of those blinds through walls everywhere.  What a clean up that was,  just bringing in  multiple 20 yard dumpsters and scooping up house guts.

And yes for awhile we had grand visions of building on an 25 acre island out off the little Homosassa. Never built out there though. Family members  lived on an old glass bottom steel boat out there for couple of years, a wild land and  harsh living for sure.
