Glad to see this. Your initial post had me wondering.

Giving a child up for adoption is a better option over abortion, if the woman does not wish to keep it. Abstinence is an even better option but realistically does not happen.

Glad to hear that Neighbor . . . . I also was wondering.

To those who say that they are not in favor of abortion reading this I have a few thoughts about that . . .

1. To say I am not in favor of abortion tends to give the impression that we personally don't like it, but, we will tolerate it and say that others can do it.

2. IF we saw a child drowning . . . would we say that we are not in favor of it, but, if they wanted to swim and drown then its okay for them?

3. IF we saw somebody murdering another, would we say the same and say that we are not personally in favor of murder, but, allow others to do it?

4. Murder is wrong period. Yes, I get involved when I see unjust laws being crafted by wicked men and women who desire to kill babies. I marched regularly for 30 years to protest and bring awareness to this horrific violent act of killing children, and I certainly will not vote for any polititian to tolerates that sin either.

As others have expressed . . . I support laws banning abortion just as I support laws banning murder. There IS NO Differance.

Ray . . .

Hi, I am not attempting to lay a guilt trip. I am asking a serious question hoping to hear something that may  give me new insight, guidance, and encouragement.

What have I done? I fear to say in that to say is to receive my reward I suppose.

Let me put it this way: God over the past four and a half decades has given me challenge as well as opportunity to be of help, either helping a ministry or helping individuals directly. More often that not it involved  a time of prayer after seeing a need and a joint confirmation  by and with the wife of my youth my helpmate of 46 years till death did part us ( I am now twice blessed in that regard).

I am presently very interested to see how I might be physically able to get involved yet again in such ministries as two that are associated with but not part of the local body  of Christ that I am led to associate with when I can.

One being housing for abused women, often the pregnant woman alone in the world that is in need and was  seeking  help while thinking abortion had to be her answer to her pregnancy. And second,  another ministry that provides healthcare  for pregnant women as an alternative to abortion  including all the prenatal care they may need.

I am also interested in housing and provisions for the wandering homeless of today.

I tend to end up  in  a situations of providing helps. It may be helping to get someone else started in their own ministry in these areas. One to this day  runs a few homes where they hide out abused women  and help them with their young babies.

I personally have walked the woods behind the housing "projects" literally the jungle woods to find a couple living in a cardboard refrigerator box that were in need for their baby, while I was assisting my first wife at her number one love a ministry that counseled women that were pregnant and that provided  prenatal care , cribs, baby formulas, foods, bedding, etc.

We together came close to buying that non profit at one time but were led elsewhere into helping   family establish a  Christian school situated at a place  to help the poor that could not generally afford private Christian education. That one took much family involvement and quite a bit of financial  stretching too. It to this day  tends to the education of 350 students.

What else can I share without getting to involved in what God leads me into; Hmmm, oh just a little thing, but one that I am so glad God provided us opportunity one day, as it blessed my wife and myself to have been led to the need: I was at our newly constructed apartments when  my flats concrete workers came up in their rig  to say hello and ask if I had more work to be done. I asked how is it going? And they broke down, saying it is hard the economy is so bad etc.  The baby has no food, or diapers, we have nothing to eat right now.

I had nothing on me in the way of money as we were pretty well broke too. But I drove on home  some 48 miles talked to my wife and said I think we need pray,  our flats workers are in trouble. She prayed and pulled out what we could to  go buy food diapers etc, and I drove back 48 miles to their little apartment and left off the packages.

God has led us at the right time and place over the many decades it seems. Some so awesome I just have need to keep it to myself.

I just don't want to miss an opportunity simply because I am now aged. Thing is I have to concede I am  more than a bit busted up and getting slower of mind too. And so I do ask  in many a situation "So what now?" What will you have of your friends and servants Lord? What will you have of this one? Are we good,- is it good between you and me? Am I missing something Lord?

Sounds great. But for those who may be moved by your testimony and perhaps feel a desire to be involved, where could they go to do the most good. What organizations do you recommend if their church hasn't one.

Some may not feel they are bold enough to do it on their own and would like you to give some information so as to familiarize them in different areas to be involved as the Lord leads. Some can give financial support, and others with small funds but available time would be encouraged if they knew better how to go about it.

There can be a neat blessing to the Lord if this thread encouraged Christians to be more involved hands on and not just simply debating the issue. Perhaps the names of organizations nation wide or local you would recommend that are recognized and are familiar with helping those who have a heart to help. Never know the Lords ways to bring about Christian growth, and opportunity to bless others..

Thanks Neighbor...

Interesting thought. I'll have to prayerfully think that over. I kinda don't want to be selling a particular ministry. That plus I am really torn right now as I am frustrated at not getting back to the mountains where I felt we have been called to go. Yet it just keeps slip sliding away without even opportunity to plant nor  tend the fruit tree to maturity never mind pick the fruit.

BUT by golly there was an excellent sermon, more a talk,  Sunday that  addressed so many issues  thatI think we all are facing right now. I am eager for it to be posted online today so I can revisit it. pray, think, and study on it. With hope  that might be that "here's your sign" moment.

Laying a guilt trip on someone that does not know Christ never helps. I wonder if most believers think abortion is some greater sin. Hey even Christ said the one that turned Him over has the greater sin. Yet to God a lie is just as bad. I don't know many show them He came died for then to set them free. Teaching Sunday school many years ago talking about this young girl ooh she got so mad crying. They didn't want me to teach that class. Not long after that something happened and her and her boy friend were helping us and she shared how she had an abortion was saying sorry but.. yeah she didn't have to and I had no way of knowing.

But the classic we live and learn. Gonna make a safe bet most believers don't know whats it like to take a life then be preached at over and over how your a killer on and on. Not like family that lived next door to on ran by two gay women. The kids would go over and bring them cookies and things and invite them to dinner never once condemning them. Well one night they came over both got saved stopped living together on and on.

No one is sinning against you or me. This world needs to know He GOD loves them came to die for them. To know there is a way out. A woman you know the story caught in sin tossed at His feet. Some wonder was she naked because she was caught in adultery and they had every right under the law to stone her. So what did He do? Yeah today just who are the ones bringing the sinners or believers that sin tossing them at His feet?

Abortion a sin amen

I had 7 miscarriages after being told I could never have children  I did have them and sad to say lost two sons after ..it breaks my heart to hear of healthy women  carrying healthy children because of choices THEY made then murdering said children as it is inconvenient to give birth to them. We do not live in a time of ignorance There are plenty of birth control opportunities ( including abstinence ) if you chose to ignore them who should suffer the consequences  ?   The guilty or the innocent ? If an innocent person was put to death for the crimes of a guilty person there would be outcry so why not when millions of innocents are condemned ?

In all fairness, an innocent was indeed put to death for the crimes of the guilty: our Lord Jesus Christ.

The only thing I will say with regard to this topic is this: no one knows the circumstances that others face unless they serve them where they are. I read a great deal of whining and bellyaching about helping those in need, and this is common here in the United States among the religious. This whining and bellyaching is justified by demonizing the unfortunate, painting them all with the same wicked paint brush.

The measure which we use to judge others will be measured to us by the Lord. Ignorance is not an excuse, not when the blind claim they can see.

I think we all know there a mass amount of people in this world who are fighting battles we know nothing about, thus we should always be kind, and considerate, no matter the battle they fight.

That could be me but by God's grace.

I was hoping to generate interest in helping, not just the mom but the baby as well.
There are so many adoption agency's today, secular and faith based, if only they could put the pregnant moms in touch with them for housing pre birth and later to get with adoption agencies.

Trying to get the word out here to those that may consider and be led to be involved.
Hoping someone here would pick up on this who may be informed of this issue.
You never know how God works out his plans...

Thanks Marathoner..

Getting into trouble is bad for anyone and it happens to all of us.
Eliminating a life to escape a bad decision  goes beyond my understanding of a human.
It has become acceptable in today's society. Not right.
And I do not have to defend my position.
Pray for the moms. Pray for the helpless babies.

PS. If you can still find it, watch 'The Silent Scream'

I doubt the availability anymore. Reality. Wholesale.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
