Ah there we do disagree. The common sense is that there is no God and certainly no Son of God that willingly sacrificed himself to do His Father's will. I especially do not need common sense but instead I absolutely need the foolishness of uncommon grace and mercy everlasting from God through Jesus as revealed by the Holy Spirit. Common sense will definitely lead me astray to my everlasting shame.

I'm talking about the commonsense of living in this world.

Do you lock your doors?    Shut your windows at night if you live on a ground floor?   Do you keep your valuables or credit cards safe?    Do you wear a seatbelt?  On and on it goes.   These are all commonsense things. 

Just because we are Christians doesn't mean we ignore commonsense.

I am happy to gravitate by the mercy of God through Jesus as revealed by the Holy Spirit to uncommon sense the foolishness of the Gospel of Jesus and the gospel as lived out by Paul  under the most horrific of governments, even writing under inspiration of  God for my use even today that  we are to obey all rulers for they are appointed by God.

Whoa! Now that's a tough one, one that goes against common sense, yet there it is. Do I have hope certain in Jesus to rely on that or not?

Let's see, to answer your example questions or some anyway: As to do I lock doors and  windows, use seat belts, etc.?  That is a whole different realm of so called common sense. Today people buckle up and then stare at their cell phone while texting. Common sense? well it is common anyway.

There was a day when common sense said, "it is best not to wear those seat belts, but instead to be thrown "free" in a serious crash. Come ,to think of it  I once bent a steering wheel pretty seriously with my head and chest while wearing  lap belts I had put in a 1949 Pontiac.

My windows are never open because I run HVAC 24/7.

I do drive on occasion a 1949 Lincoln with no power brakes, no power steering, and no seat belts, but with a giant steering wheel mounted to a massive solid steering post column spear. Love it! It is  a throwback experience in luxury, just  gliding down the highway on giant balloon wide whitewall tires with "15% more air, for safety" as its sales brochure promoted. That likely made common sense in 1948-49.

Sense that is common  is always fluid, circumstances commonly changing what seems to be sensible all the time! What does not change is the uncommon sense the foolishness of the gospel of Christ Jesus.  

God historically has not tolerated well  humans making little gods to worship as saviors of the condition of the human species, nor of any of His creation. Seems to me He gets down right angry, his wrath becomes full when Christians forget  their first love Jesus, even in their trying to be doing and promoting causes they think are good and worthy ( Even those done by tacking on "in the name of Jesus" -because of a "sign").

You sound like a Harris, Waltz supporter. You defend them but go after Trump who Kennedy now supports.

Hi, Way too many read selectively I fear. What I have said and what I have done all my life is never vote for a Democrat. I violated that once voting against The Calfornia song and dance man Murphy for US Senate. I selected Alan Cranston. Geesh!!!

Harris, regardless of ability or lack thereof, is not an option for me. Trump was not and is not a Republican. He saw an opportunity to overwhelm a rather weak field other than my own selection Ben Carson in 2016.

Since then He has mesmerized the Christian nationalists much like Glenn Beck did on radio. Beyond my comprehension, as the man turns on everyone  he works with including his own vice president.

Last night I had a long  discussion  with a beloved family member, a California Democrat.  The only one that I know of in the family. That person along with myself suffered under Trump policies, and so trying to turn her away from Harris as a California voter is pointless; except this family member will now at least look at casting a vote for Kennedy to help establish the Unity Party  for 2026 and 2028.

No way I could or would trade a Harris vote in Florida for a Kennedy vote at California. Voting for Trump at California is a wasted vote. Whereas voting for Kennedy there could help minutely to enable The Unity Party to  run a candidate for Governor in 2026, one backed in part by Nicole Shanahan or it might even be Shanahan as candidate.

PS I have voted  inPresidential elections since 1964  when I voted against Lyndon Johnson. Must have been myself and three others if I remember. We got smeared by Johnson that year. I have no horse in the race this year at Florida, unless someone wants to cast a vote for Kennedy in their State for my casting  one for The Donald. I'd do that.

Even in his new willingness to work with trump he states "maybe this time he (Trump) will follow through- referencing Trump's fauilure to do so when Kennedy  aided and advised him  regarding Dr. Fauci. He knows it is risky counting on Trump.  

"We" are still in the 2024 race on the ballots of 40 States seeking to reach 5% of the total popular vote so that we don't have to spend 100's of millions of dollars  on petitions  to be on ballots come 2026 and 2028.

In the meantime my hope is certain as it is not placed in Presidential elections anyway. It is in Jesus alone.

No thank you. He supports some things that I don't so I don't have to go to the site. I'm so proud that Kennedy supports Trump now. Even he can tell he is going to win! Oh, btw you answered me in another thread. Do you pray for Trump. Because I pray for the Biden, Harris, Walz.

No reason to respond to those that "know" what they "know" without even checking readily available information that refutes what they "know". At any rate my own confidence is in God's foreknowledge  and predestination working to the end that all leaders are appointed by Him.

And all that are turned about to knowing Jesus as their Lord are turned about by the reveal to them by the Holy Spirit.

 

All this hubbub is but a moment's vapor. In the end it is all going to burn. And there will be a new heaven a new earth, a new Jerusalem. Perhaps we might agree on that much?
