I would suggest that those feeling "diminished" have an opportunity to learn to trust that God orders their footsteps.

I was once a member of a congregation where the bigger personalities received all the attention from leadership, and those with smaller personalities were not seen for their potential. However, the time did come when all the bigger personalities had disappeared - and there was little choice but to notice the few of us who had remained loyal and continued getting on with the work.

The extrovert bias of the world sometimes infects the church. Nevertheless, God sees your faithfulness (even when nobody else notices).

Therefore, let Jesus look after His own church, and we each learn to work out our own salvations.

I am tempted to name names of "heavy weights" who offend me because of their becoming more focused on self than our Lord.  But, it serves no purpose and goes against what God is doing with them.  I can pray for their relationship and purpose in the Lord's plan.  I am not accountable for them.  And I have my own accountability and relationship with God.  Let God and let go. Amen.

All things work together for good for those that believe on the Lord. Each saint has a talent or two or three, but each does not have the same gifts of the Holy Spirit. Some are leaders and for good reason,  to serve God's good purpose. Some are not leaders, but can be used substantially towards the ends God wills to be tended or served.

Much gets done if, as Ronald Reagan used to share,  one does not worry about who gets credit.

Hi Michael: I honestly don't know what swaggering is, and although I could go to dictionary, I might miss the European cultural meaning so could you forgive my lack of understanding and explain?  I am sure it is simple since you didn't elaborate, but, just want to be sure I understand correctly.

Thanks!

Therefore, rather than focus on a swaggering Head Deacon and be drawn into a demonically staged controversy, the joy of being in the body of Christ, which God has "tempered together" (1 Cor 12:24), should be maintained, along with the other aspects of the Fruit of the Spirit.

I think you hit the nail on the head, Michael.

It is not biblical. Swagger is to walk in an arrogant way or be aggressive.

Being humble is good and that is what God calls us to be.

The swaggering church member may be very busy in the flock, have a lot of responsibility, and be a named leader with authority to be in charge of various aspects of organisation and administration.

Hi,  I read of individuals that have this and that against leaders; but in truth I have never seen a swaggering leader. Fact  I have never seen a lone leader of any kind. I have been with teams of elders, and teams of deacons, and teams of deaconesses; all who are busy about the work of the local body of Christ Jesus. None have ever had time for swagger nor any interest in  strutting; instead all have been most humble, wanting no adulation nor recognition whatsoever.

The teams I have been with and around prefer not to let their own left hand know what their right hand is doing, and just get done what the Holy Spirit leads the teams into doing for the glory of our Lord alone.

I've never experienced this at Church, but I've seen it many times.  I think the behavior is the same.  The person who is arrogant, loud and tells you how great they are can rarely back it up with actions.  I always look at the fruits. I've witnessed this at many competitions.  The quiet humble person with great focus is the one I watch.  If you are good at something, others will tell you.  You won't have to tell them.  I didn't compete for others, I did it for me.  Worshipping God should be the same.  Matthew 6:6 - But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

Me too.

Jud 1:4  For certain men crept in secretly, those having been of old previously written into this condemnation, ungodly ones perverting the grace of our God for unbridled lust, and denying the only Master, God, even our Lord Jesus Christ.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
