From hearsay, our local Baptist church has a history of splits and cliques. I witnessed a couple of them in my eight-year tenure as a member. We had a pastor that a segment of the church (Trustees) dismissed without a vote or notice, and there was a big stink over it. He would slam his Bible down on the pulpit and shout to wake those asleep and dozing off. Walking out the door, people felt depressed, rejected, and useless from his sermons.

But anyway, the two major problems that seem to persist are gossip, certain people wanting control of everything (egos), and leadership.

I left my church for a couple of months and found another church. Long story short, I believe the Lord directed me to that church, and I returned.

I believe, particularly in this Laodicean church age, Satan and his minions are especially active in disrupting Christians and the church. It sickens me what the Southern Baptist Convention keeps proposing and trying to pass in the name of inclusion and political correctness. I do believe darkness knows its time is short.

Last July, we celebrated the 200th anniversary of our church's founding. Only a handful of members in their 70s-80s who grew up in our church remain.

It saddens me when people leave the congregation. In every case, when someone or a group leaves, I can pin a lack of humility, not putting others before yourself, and pride as some of the culprits.

For many years, a fellow would visit the dumpsters in the neighborhood once a week. He would remove metal objects from the dumpsters and put them in the bed of his pickup truck. I approved of what he was doing.

I haven't seen him for about two years now. I pray that all is well with him.

Yep. Sad that so many are though; a world of it's own within the world at large.

The wives, nicely dressed, were a bit aghast at our dive;  but hey I got a life ime supply of 8 foot lengths of 3/8s inch diameter threaded rod. Wow, what a deal.

I grew up when neighborhoods had alleys between homes for the garbage trucks to pick up the garbage cans, and other 'stuff' thrown away. As a kid walking to and from school etc I traveled the 'treasure' alleys. In the 50's people threw away old radios/TV's, broken bikes etc. We'd cut out the radio parts and make simple radios adding crystals and copper wire.

Later in yrs during my construction days pulling up to the job site I would always ck out the huge job site dumpster. When the framers would remove all the structure bracing of 2 x 4's They were full of nails so threw them in the dumpster. I can not give an idea of how much new lumber I scrounged daily, to say nothing of brand new electrical  fittings, wire, and fixtures (and left over all-thread to hang fixtures) and other subs goodies..

I guess it's having been raised by Great Depression parents and grand parents.
Everything has value, one man's junk-another man's treasure.

Thanks Neighbor

That's what I call "wise." Back in those days when I worked on a framing crew, I would save scrap from cuts (I was the cut man) to use for wall kickers. Anything to avoid butchering full lengths of lumber just to make smaller lengths was worth it. If I pulled nails, I would deposit good pulled nails (I tried to pull them out straight) into my tool belt. I saved 'em for use down the road.

Yep, and that includes good design that factors in calculating  dimensions to reduce waste.

I once chose to build apartments using concrete party walls, prestressed concrete floors, and steel studs for interior walls. Boy didn't do that twice! We ended up chopping metal all day and then running corded screw guns of that era to fasten everything.

About two o'clock every afternoon  we would get a shock that would knock us off ladders. Turned out by  two pm  the steel walls  we had formed would be significant enough to form a ground that  zapped the 120 volt screw guns of that era, bypassing the normal neutral and ground. When we touched a stud,- zap!

We had to actually drive into the ground  individual grounding rods for each apartment  and attach them to the steel stud walls to keep us safe. Ah construction, was fun; but this old beat up body doesn't much miss it. One day I decided I have had it with this, and I simply let my license expire.

I guess that relates a ever so loosely to vibes- vibes of a third kind.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
