I am in the process of making a new YouTube channel called “ The Beacon” but when I searched it I realized there must be 500 other channels with the same name. The result is I’m hopelessly buried. I may need to change the name.

My idea was to make a more serious channel that takes on current world subjects. The plays on that first video have been quite dismal. Mainly because there is no visibility to speak of. We live and learn right? 
Since it’s an ideas channel I wasn’t sure if it conflicted here. My views are and always will be Christian, but I had not planned to make it visible here as much. The subject matter on that channel clashes with hikes as an interest.

If anyone has interest that channel can be found here.

 

I didn't look at this video yet but I watched your one on the occult overnight.

Yes, it's probably best to change your other channel's name if yours can't be found easily.

P.S.  I found your Beacon channel by clicking watch on YouTube.   I see the above video is the one I saw overnight.

Now to the context, your subject. I see you had no notes, and (thus?) you tended to `waffle` a bit, speaking in generalizations where actual examples would be better. Even though you were attempting to highlight the metaphysical/ designer God, actually your last subject came over better. And that was the affect the phones/utube etc is having on us.

Very brave to admit you are addicted. That is why it`s good to see you out and about hiking or on your bike. That is needed for relaxation of mind and body and we, who can`t get there so enjoy going with you.

I suggest that you prune down your topics so that you can give more detail and examples.

Just some thoughts I had, which may not be other`s thoughts.

Thanks Marilyn. I appreciate your comments. So far as notes, I have never been a notes person, but could have jelled the ideas better:)

I guess I assumed everyone could see my generalities, i.e. the scientific community, but not everyone is aware of how they operate to raise funds or how their reward to advancement system works. Writing papers has often replaced actual advancement since many of the papers are not solidly based on much at all. 

I will look at narrowing the topics.

I have only recently started watching YouTube more. Right when the whole Diddy, Taylor swift this went down. That and the post election fallout I find interesting. I knew I  was dumping too much time into it when I could have been on Worthy:). I will be backing off again.

So, just my suggestion. You are very good one on one, (eg viole) with those topics, and perhaps in other forums. However, if you want a utube presentation and people looking you would do well, I believe, to speak to believers about the world we live in and the dangers you see. And/or about life in general and detail, in this changing environment we now are moving into. 

Whatever you do I am always interested to look, listen and learn. Having been a teacher, I do like to review work and appreciate the effort you have to get messages out there.

I appreciate your thoughts here. Being a teacher I’m sure you have good suggestions. Not sure how to improve visibility. Maybe change the name of the site again or the titles. I have lots of ideas. It’s something constructive for me to do. I see it as a potential ministry.

Thanks Deb. I made two channels. That one on the occult will probably be moved. I kept the Starise channel but made another one. I will be looking to change the name because it gets buried on YouTube.

I’m still trying to find out what works best. So far my channels are buried. Thanks for watching the videos. I do plan to upload more videos of my area to the Starise channel.

If you click on "watch on YouTube", then you can subscribe to his channel    You will see "subscribe" under his video.   Just click it.   You will get notifications about new videos.

If you want to see all of his videos at once, click on "Starise" under his video.   That takes you to his collection of videos.
