Yes pretty big event being that the Sun shall be darkened, the Moon turned to blood, and the stars of heaven falling to the earth.  Being that our sun is considered one of the smallest stars and some stars are said to be over a 1000x bigger than our sun.  What would that look like a star 1000x bigger than our sun falling to earth like a fig leaf?  Falling to earth like a leaf would be some very weak words.  Besides how long would it take for the nearest star (not our Sun) to fall to earth being that it is said to be over 4 light years away.

We all have different thoughts and pictures, trying to rationalize imagery, what scripture tells us. The Greek word for stars below is (astēr), where we derive our English word asteroid.

Revelation 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

(FBoll, ZNW 18, 1918, 40–48. Diod S 16, 66, 3: a marvelous, divinely sent heavenly body leads the fleet of Timoleon toward Italy. When he and his companions noticed this heavenly manifestation, περιχαρεῖς ἦσαν [16, 66, 5].—On the star s. μάγος 1.) Falling fr. heaven in the last tribulation Mt 24:29; Mk 13:25; Rv 6:13 (all three Is 13:10; cp. Artem. 2, 36 p. 137, 15 καταπίπτοντες εἰς γῆν οἱ ἀστέρες). [1]

Aster is used for the bright morning Star (Jesus), stars & planets, and supernatural beings. In the context of Matthew 24:29, it sounds to me like asteroid impacts. The ejecta of an impact would cause the effects of said verse, not to mention triggering earthquakes and volcanic activity polluting the atmosphere globally.

If we are at the tail end of the last days, as I suspect, this coming asteroid Apophis, which will become visible to the naked eye in 2025, is prophetically interesting in several ways, too numerous to comment on again.

Psalm 147:4 He telleth the number of the stars (H. kôkāb) ; he calleth them all by their names.

Psalm 147:4 is interesting. I am not trying to read anything into this verse, but it sounds personal and a relationship.

I genuinely believe we have reached this point in history:

Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Is the following figurative or literal language? If literal as I believe, think of the implications of our physics, understanding, and awe inspiring omnipotence.

Jeremiah 10:12 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

Revelation 6:14 (KJV) And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

That's interesting. You brought that up just as I hit the post button.

Absolutely agree.

Kind of interesting that the majority of stars and planets are named after Greek and Roman gods.

The word 'planet' comes from the Greek word which means 'to deceive' (G4106) the same word in Hebrew 'nasa' also means 'to deceive' or 'lead astray'.

It would be nice to know what the Hebrews called the planets.

Interesting, I heard that 'planet' came from the word 'wander' because these bright lights wandered across the sky.

The bible never uses the concept of planet.  One translation misused the word planet for constellations, which means groups of stars rather than planets:  The bible says God created the Sun (singular), Moon (singular) and the stars (plural) no mention of planets, so what we would call a planet falls into the group as stars.  The bible says God created the Sun, Moon, and stars and their purpose was to provide light to the earth and for signs, seasons, days, and years.  So, basically the bibles says the Sun, Moon and stars are a gigantic clock in sky which also provides light for the earth.

The greek word 'planeo' from where we get the word 'planet' means: to wander, or go astray, or be deceived.   All the stars of heaven move in the same pattern, except for the wandering stars/planets. They have their own orbit, not in relation to all the other stars of the sky and hence why they are referred to as the wandering stars aka planets.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
