Absolutely. So on the one hand there’s that shame, but on the other, it shows me how far I’ve come.

Hi @Scott Free Great verses you quoted there. I do love also how 2 Corinthians stresses the importance of the inward and spiritual.

2 Corinthians 4.16-18:

"For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

Some Christians are in a situation where, having maybe rushed into a tattoo in the past that they are having second thoughts about, they face the immediate and practical challenge of, What now? where do we go from here?

Sometimes tattoos gotten before conversion can be changed. For example, a guy with a nude pin up tattoo who is converted and does not want this to be seen any more might want to go back to a tattoo parlor and have a bikini tattooed onto the figure or even a dress or pantsuit. Again, for example, a soundly converted woman with a tattoo of the name of an unbelieving ex-bf (e.g., BILL) might want to have a tattoo artist change the wording to something that reflects her new convictions (e.g., BILL to BIBLE, etc.).

Every tattooee faces his or her own often unique personal journey.

PS: @hopper Sometimes ppl with existing tattoos have a dilemma about what to do next, if they are at different levels regretted...

That is so true. Still love the idea of complete modesty with nothing to show. Spiritual power wrapped in sackcloth. To be considered nothing, yet hearths what is most powerful.
