Well, I haven't reread all of this, but I thought I'd bump it up, considering the current discussions lately. I thought you could revisit it with me.

The first 2 pages are well worth it....even if it was from a loooong time ago. :24:

Shalom,

<sigh> Here we go again.

Island Rose's reply shows the answer from Scripture.

And for the record, these vast generalizations that the "church" isn't doing this and isn't doing that is ridiculous. The Church is the BODY, made up of INDIVIDUAL BELIEVERS. And, for the record, MY church as a whole isn't doing what the OP accuses the "church" of doing, but of course there are individuals everywhere, some are, some aren't. So any message goes out to the INDIVIDUAL BELIEVER for we each stand accountable for our actions, thoughts, words etc. Not as a church, but as an individual.

So, in answer to the question, the Bible says:

Here is my understanding of this..........

I see fruits as fruit of the Spirit:

22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

23. meekness, self-control; against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22, 23

These are inward motivations or attitudes.

I see works as the outward manifestaions of this fruit.:

Even so let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works , and glorify your Father who is in heaven Matthew 5:16

IR :il:

Dear Vickilynn,

I'm curious, does this passage minister to you in any way? What is it that Jesus is conveying? Is He REALLY talking about "trees", or are there specifics in regard to the parable?

Luke 13:6 Then he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. 7 So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?' 8 "'Sir,' the man replied, 'leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it. 9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.'"

Luke 3:7 John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

What does it mean? Or will you not be willing to consider it? Can you equally accept the teachings of this, as easily as you accept the teachings of faith? We should be able to receive the WHOLE counsel of God, shouldn't we?

In His Love,

Suzanne

Shalom Suzanne,

I'm happy to discuss Scripture with you, but look at your words. You have your mind made up and have falsely accused me. You want to talk Scriptures, then don't accuse me of not believing them before you even give me a chance to reply.

I have said COUNTLESS times (maybe you missed all my posts) that once we are saved, we are to walk in obedience.

I don't see any way that constitutes not receiving the whole counsel of G-d.

Good, so does that mean that I can continue to speak of the issue of works/obedience now, without controversy over salvation earned? But, rather that one can see that a saved person will have no problem with obedience?

Good Works And Obedience

Hebrews 10:24 and may we consider one another to provoke to love and to good works,

Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

15 These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Shalom Suzanne,

You can do whatever you want!

The point is, when you ask about SALVATION in your OP, you will get answers based the context of SALVATION. Then you get mad at the ones replying about SALVATION. Just take responsibility. If you didn't ask about SALVATION, the responses would not be in the context of SALVATION. See? It's simple. Just ask what you really want to ask. The only controversy is you getting upset that people are answering about SALVATION when in fact, that's what you asked.

And, BTW, if you ever really read any of my posts on the topics with an open mind, you'd see that from post 1, I said, that "Once we are saved we are responsible for walking in obedience." So, I don't really know why you have such a problem with that, but perhaps now you can get past it. :whistling:

I think I've figured out what our delimma is Vickilynn.

It's not that I am saying works produce salvation, it's that you "aren't" willing to say that salvation without good works/fruit is really a "lost" person. Which is what I'm getting at. If you say you have faith, show me your faith with your works, because a faith without works is _________________?

Produce fruit worthy of repentance.

In His Love,

Suzanne

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
