Not the knowledge of Christ, but He Himself!

Read this in the "God is Enough" devotional by Hannah Whitall Smith, that sums it all up so concisely and well.

No longer is it truth about Christ that must fill our hearts, but it is Himself, the living, loving, glorious Christ.  If we let Him, He will make us His dwelling place to rule and reign within us and "subdue all things to Himself." (Phil 3:21)

I can attest to this even him suddenly appearing to me in my room he is an actual person and if you invite him in he will dine with you be with you and always abide in and around you. people forget he is not just some distant God we pray to he is an actual person a human being he is here and now not later or before

Agreed, knowing about Jesus is not the same as Knowing Jesus. All born again believers have Jesus within according my bible.
There is a great importance in knowing Jesus in spirit-and Truth.
It was the truth, the word, that set us free, to receive Jesus within.
But we must abide in the true vine, Vine Abider......, .....to Know him...

I have read accounts of Christ appearing visibly to people - one Muslim terrorist got powerfully converted that way!  And Christ appeared visibly to my dad in his early 20s when he was in a motel room.

We need to be careful that we don`t pit one against the other. Knowing about Christ should lead us to Him. And then we are to grow in the knowledge of Him -

`...till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God. to a perfect (mature) MAN, to the stature of the fullness of Christ.` (Eph. 4: 13)

CORRECTION 

 

PROVERBS 6:23  for the commandment is a lamp and the law is light and reproofs of instruction are the way of life

2 TIMOTHY 3:16  all scripture is given by inspiration of  GOD  and is profitable for doctrine for reproof for correction for instruction in righteousness

It is not one's spiritual knowledge or ones spiritual experiences that count, but how one actually follows  Jesus, as he said it is by their fruits that you will know them.

"Well, of course that is correct!  The operative word here being "should."  But we all know how "knowing about Christ" can become an end unto itself.

"You search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life . . . but you will not come unto Me that you might have life!" (John 5:39-40)

"The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." (2 Cor 3:6)

"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof." (2 Tim 3:5)
