what makes a prophet

I was given revelation or a word of knowledge whatever you want to call it and in specific detail this lead him to believe in God again is this not also what a prophet is supposed to do with revelation lead people back to God?

I don't have an answer to your question, Azzure. I would say though that if your gift puffs you up with a sense of importance and prestige, be careful and be concerned as to where this gift originates. Many over the centuries have witnessed an apparition claiming it the Virgin Mary. Scriptures proves otherwise. All I can tell you is to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

And so is the NT. Jesus prophesied in MML&J His own death burial and resurrection and the things that would happen in 70 AD and the lsst days.  John in Revelation prophesied the things that will happen in the last days. 

If you think there are modern day prophets that have been given revelation from God, where are they?  Who are they?

If you think there are modern day prophets that have been given revelation from God, where are they?  Who are they? 

Well they are far and few inbetween but I have met one before he was some t.v. preacher and at the time I was in deep depression drinking a lot not bothering to pick up my beer cans and this man suddenly stopped preaching looked directly at the camera and started saying how he could see my room full of beer cans and that I was indulging in the devils nector  I was completely shocked thinking how did he know?

 

I wish I could find that person again but he saw in the spirit and was given revelation to info he could not have known otherwise

Careful who you listen to on TV.  There's lots of false teachers and preachers that care only about getting rich off of easily influenced folk.

Yes therw are many like that but not all of them some are actually genuine
