The Bereans do not speak like that without considering the context. There is the context of the choice verse and there is the context of everything else in the authors letters.

And it should be like that when someone quotes the post.

Why it is not like that in your post.

I see it differently.  Getting saved is when the person believes the gospel promise and the Holy Spirit takes up residence in the new believer.  Being filled is when the believer has submitted to the Holy Spirit through asking to be filled.

Of course you are right, I was using a parable style example based on what Jesus said to the woman at the well, "whoever drinks of the Water I give shall never thirst"

My post is fine.  Did you expand the first quote box?  I include what I had posted so what the other poster says has context.  And what is in red above is IN my post.  You just can't see it unless you expand the quote box.  It's all there.

I didn't miss anything.

2) Be filled (baptized) in the Holy Spirit (yes, that is a separate experience from salvation. Acts 19:2)

Could you elaborate this. I often hear posters say that unless I have been baptized in the spirit my spiritual life will be limited. If you agree with that, just how is it limited?

I have no problem with asking God to reveal to me some new understanding of scripture if it glorifies God and enables me to get closer to my savior. Does being baptized do this, and if so, how. How, as in just what happens, if you could explain, and provide scripture.

Thanks James...,  Sower

According to the bible the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is also called the Baptism with fire and power. The gifts of the Holy Spirit comes in fullness with the infilling of the Holy Spirit starting with speaking in tongues.

Jesus Himself did not do one miracle until the Holy Spirit ascended down upon Him and baptizing Him.

There is a reason the disciples were told to wait for the promise, that they received in the upper room, that promise was the Holy Spirit; and He brought with Him... power!

In Luke 11:13, Jesus said that all you need to do is ask for the infilling of the Holy Spirit, ask in faith - and He will baptize you.

When Jesus sent His disciples out, He first breathed on them (the Greek for spirit means breath, or air) Jesus gave then a portion of the Holy Spirit... just a taste, then they had the power to heal the sick, cast out demons....

I would like to add, the Holy Spirit also gives boldness. It turn Jesus-denying Peter into a bold powerhouse that stud up in front of many and preached the Gospel.

I use red on what I said that the poster was replying to.  When I quote verses, I will highlight in red the key words in the verse.

We should continue with the issues at hand. Just make it simple and just quote the post as every other poster does. Make it simple please.

I want to go back and respond to the issues at hand..

The Bible will teach you how to get saved if you are an unbeliever and mature you in the faith after you become a believer .

So you should really read and study if you're not born again yet, seek and you shall find.

I agree with this, and I can't see any reason for anyone to not study the Bible. I can't recall a single verse in the vein of "Thou shalt not dig into God's Word unless X, Y, and Z..." so it feels very much like a manmade statement to me. The Holy Spirit can convict us in a variety of ways, which can include study.

Amen. I've found it to be the case in my own walk. Read the same chapter a different day and different things stick out, and through the process of discussion of scripture we can learn more. I'd argue that scriptural discussions can be a form of study as well.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
