I hope to not get this off topic, but VA you mentioned `the kingdom and the Body of Christ,` what do you see as the difference, if any?

Sorry sister, but I think that conversation might derail things . . .  :pancarta:

What do you think is the significance of this idea of eating and drinking the things of God?  Is this more than just studying the written word?  And if so, how do we know the difference?

Specifically, we eat the body and drink the blood of Jesus Christ; He is the bread that has come down from heaven (John 6:51-59). What does this mean?

It means that we are joined to His Body, becoming one with Him. We eat His body and are nourished thereby (man does not live by bread alone). The blood is the life, yes? It is indeed, and Jesus Christ is the Life, brother. He gives life to whomever He chooses, and He chooses to give eternal life to us. Therefore, we drink His blood, for His blood is eternal life. He gave His blood for our sake.

Practically, this means that those who eat of His body and drink His blood are always in the presence of the Almighty --- for the Spirit of the Lord dwells in us, and we dwell with Him --- and we are never without Him at any time. This is why buildings and organizations are meaningless, my friend. The Lord has never regarded ritual observance, for He seeks the poor in spirit who tremble at His word... and this word are the words of His mouth. The scriptures have their place, but many of the saints never had access to them. This is no obstacle to the Holy One.

I never encountered the scriptures when the Lord came to me. I never read the scriptures until after the vision of the Body which the Spirit opened to me. I was astonished to read descriptions of the Body I witnessed in that vision in those scriptures. Living stones, brother.

Regardless of where we are and whatever we find ourselves doing, we are in the presence of God. There is no partition, for eating His body and drinking His blood makes us one with Christ and also, one with our brethren who also eat His body and drink His blood.

What's the difference between studying the scriptures and living on every word from the mouth of God? The latter comes before the former. One is heard, and the other is read.

Since "Now the Lord is the Spirit" (2 Cor 3:17) our eating and drinking of Him is in spirit (His spirit is joined to ours - 1 Cor 6:17). And where is the Lord's Spirit?  It's in all His believers, those born of the Spirit.  So it makes sense that in order to "fan into flames the gift of God which is in you" (2 Tim 1:6), we need to frequently be mingling with others who also have His Spirit in them, speaking the reality of who we are in Him to one another in psalms and verses and hymns - nourishing and encouraging one another's spirit!

Thus we feed on Christ and build up the body in love.

Chew more - think less

This connects to something I was thinking about this morning for a thread, but here it is.

:-)

Its not an easy thing to communicate, but Lord willing, I may try.

I don't know that we can say eating and drinking bypasses our thinking.  However, when we eat and drink and once we swallow, the metamorphosis of the food happens automatically.  But no amount of thinking about food and talking about food will do it - we have to get it into us.

There is the picture (although you could argue about which is the real food - the physical or the spiritual).

Had a good time singing at today's gathering.  This song in particular pertained a lot to this thread's topic of eating and drinking Christ!  (to the tune of "Down by the Riverside")

God speaks to us in ways we can understand and we have a solid picture in the physical realm regarding eating and drinking the Spirit of Christ.  We need physical food and drink to sustain our bodies.  And the old maxim of "You are what you eat" is so true.  What we eat gets metabolized into our very cells and becomes part of us.  If we eat proper, nourishing food according to what our bodies need, we function and grow well.  But if we eat junk - we feel junkie, and our bodies don't respond well.

So, so many pictures of eating and drinking in scripture that tells us the importance of eating in the spiritual/reality . . .

If we eat Christ we live; if we eat the other we die!

Communion is an important subject. But people take it for granted. I think we should take it seriously and use it to strengthen our spirits. It is sharing the nature of Christ by His death and Resurrection.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
