Kittylover, I haven't read that you spend much time in the word, and as for me that was/is a problem. If you have not completely read through the Bible at least twice you should do so. Each time you pick up the book, ask the Spirit to show you somehting that you need to know to be helpful for the Kingdom of God. It has helped me several times over this nearly 60 years of breathing.....

Sam

Kittylover: Sam is right! Also, I think I'd be careful who you're associating with. If you're meeting so-called 'prophets' of doom, who tell you you're dying in 30 days....I'd avoid "prophets" and listen to Jesus INSTEAD! His Word and His Spirit will guide you into ALL TRUTH...not the hearsay of some false prophet.

Some good advice from cat's and Sam K-L. When I came to know the Lord I was well known in our town and I had to forsake all the people I used to hang out with.

The Lord even took me away from that place and led us in a small rural town where we didn't know anyone, so there were no stubling blocks for me. The result,..... the only people we got to know were christian. Mighty is our Lord. He will remove temptation if you trust 100% and He promised never to leave you or forsake you. You can bank on it.

in Him,

eric.

Hey, Kittylover!

Been there. Done that.

There's two things to consider.

One: spiritual attacks of the enemy. When you are pursuing God, the enemy has a way of bringing you down. Just remember who you are in Christ!

Two: our spiritual lives are like journeys - we go through the mountains and valleys, yes, but don't forget the deserts. If you read the historical books of the Bible, and even some of the prophets, you will find that many of them (those that had mention of their lives) had to endure living in the desert.

It's not a fun a journey - always spiritually dry and hungry. But it is in the desert you learn to rely on the Lord in new ways. Over time, you learn to find the springs of water and trust the sustanance the Lord provides. Eventually, you may even learn to see the beauty that is in the desert. But this all takes time, so don't get discouraged!

One thing that helped me greatly was when a friend gave me a book called Arena by Karen Hancock. In the story the main character learns how to sense the presence of God (well, He's not mentioned as "God " by such, but you know who it is. ). In reading this, something clicked with me, and I found that even in my worst times, I can feel His presence there, even thought my natural senses says I shouldn't and everything is going wrong or I am totally out of sorts. Whether that would help you likewise, I don't know, but I pray you find what is needed to learn this, for what we "feel" never changes who God is or where He is or what He is doing. He promised never to leave you nor forsake you, so you should know He's there. The next step is actually believe it! After that, it's a matter of finding Him near you (yes, He does enjoy playing hide-and-go-seek, and you're It!).

kittylover,

Here goes my analogy of the "dry spell"...

He is the potter and we are the clay. Clay is molded, flattened, remolded, soaked down, put on a wheel, sent through the fire and put on a shelf. I'm not a pottery person so I really don't know the order but I do know a peice of pottery goes through all those things. During the times when I feel like you are feeling I just picture myself as being on that shelf. Just waiting for His next step in my life. The potter knows the peice is there, he doesn't forget it. and soon enough the breakthrough will happen. when The peice of pottery is took off the shelf it is painted and polished and beautiful. There is a time when our Father has to mold us and there is time when we walk by faith (put on the shelf). Keep the Faith.

In Christ,

Kelly

((((((((((((((((((((((Kit)))))))))))))))))))))))I know what you mean.I sometimes find myself going through what I call"spiritual depression".I get this when I don't do anything for awhile for the MASTER.There is some good advice here.Staying in the Word helps, talking to Christian brothers and sisiters helps, telling strangers about JESUS helps too.Keeping focused on the things of heaven and not so much of things here helps too.

hey, thankyou. Just to say it, I used not to read the bible at all. However, I finish reading it through for the first time this Saturday. Honestly, I have just skimmed through many of the books and I can't wait to go back and read those books(I tried playing "catch-up" for where I should have been on that "schedual")

It has been very helpful  Thankyou  (Starting reading through for a second time on Sunday.. Jan 1st :o )

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
