I don't always agree with Pat, and I don't always disagree with him either. I do know that God is involved in the affairs of man, so I wouldn't be too sure of myself one way or another if I judged someone for saying what Pat did.

He might be right and he might be wrong, it's not for me to say.

What I have noticed is the old saying "christians are the main group of people who will shoot their wounded".

Just because someone is suffering doesn't always mean it is a punishment from God...ie. Job's "friends".

Exactly why I give him the "Eliphaz Award".

Pat spoke what he does not know as if it were fact. Perhaps God is punishing Sharon, perhaps not. The point has never been whether God is punishing him or not, but whether Pat has any business claiming so on his television show. Some of us here here feel he did not.

I agree. The "coincidence" of it all can't be overlooked. Pat wasn't trying to be unkind, he was only trying to explain what was happening. I love Israel and I pray for her peace. I have nothing against Sharon and I don't wish him any harm. It's simply that what he did went against God's Word. I think that's all Pat was trying to convey, too.

Why didn't God strike him down before he made his goofball move then?

If you read through Genesis, Joshua, Judges, Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles, you will see that the Lord never "struck anyone down" before they made their "goofball move."

That would be unjust!

That poor man can't seem to "do anything right" ....and yeah, he tends to speak in public what maybe he shouldn't. But it's time folks cut that poor ol' guy some slack, whether we agree or disagree. He's got a sweet and humble spirit...bless his heart.

I think Mr Pat needs to learn to stifle his mouth in certain situations. It is up to God to issue the mans judgement and not for Pat to sit there and add his 2 cents worth (not even sure they are worth that) of comments to a man who is very ill. Pat needs to pray for the man and stand back if he has nothing nice to say pubically. By hte way hello to all once again I haven't been really well over the last 6 months with the miscarriage of twins and now pregnant again.
