I dont want to get married or have kids. I dont want a big career or anything. I have a job, come home and going to bible study now and again. maybe visiting a friend once every so often. that is my life. i dont really try for much more. in my spare time i watch films and knit....

am i sinning?

I suppose i could put myself out there more, volunteer or even get married and have kids, but i dont want to. i could also be more ambitious but i dont want to be. i kind of have issues and i kind of feel better selling myself short....

The purpose of life is basically to glorify God in our lives. You can do that without getting married, etc. However, maybe this is just something you should pray about and see if you should be doing more. If you feel guilty somehow and feel like you could be volunteering more, or be more involved at church, or something, then maybe a change is in order.

You know that the Holy Spirit is stirring your heart. If that wasn't true, you would not have made this post. You speak of going to Bible Study "now and again" and say that you "kind of" have issues. You know that you have serious problems. You know that you are indeed selling yourself short. Is your life style a sin? Maybe. Is it a potentially tragic mistake? Definitely.

I think the Holy Spirit is pushing you to come out of hiding and move toward the life God has picked out for you. I think that you have established a routine for living (a rut) that helps you avoid dealing with issues. That routine is called "isolation" and isolation is deadly. Sure, you are physically around people, but you are shunning in-depth relationships. You don't want anyone to get close to you. You don't even want God to get close, hence the "now and again" attitude toward Bible Study. You keep everyone at arms-length.

The fruit of a life style of isolation is loneliness and loneliness is, in reality, a miserable way to live.. I know. I'm a recovering alcoholic and, as an alcoholic, I kept myself numb. I was isolated for many years. My behaviors nearly destroyed

me, my marriage and my family. How mistaken I was to think that I wasn't hurting anyone other than myself.

I, too, was afraid of change. But I chose to let the Lord take my hand and lead me out of bondage. I chose to take off the mask of denial and let Him work in my life. And I tell you that doing so has brought about an awesome and wonderful change in my life.

I suggest that you get good Christian counselling, as I did, and deal with the issues instead of trying to run from them. And get into the center of that Bible Study, open your heart to a couple of people. Share your lifestory with them and listen to theirs. You may be surprised to find that you have some things in common with them that will be healing to you.

A mediocre life only produces mediocre happiness. That doesn't sound so fun to me. Gos is willing to give you a life with joy abundant if you will take it. That sounds much better to me. :24:

I think your focus is off-track.

Instead of asking yourself, "Am I doing wrong?"

Ask yourself, "Am I doing right?"

In other words, your life isn't about just exisiting, which it kind of sounds like you are doing.

Here are the real questions:

Am I seeking the Lord?

Am I living the life He has planned for me?

Volunteering shouldn't be about "just volunteering." Rather, it should be about your heart being motivated to minister.

Likewise, getting married isn't about "just geting married." Rather, it's about commiting yourself to the man you love and want to spend the rest of your life with.

To sum it up, if you desire to not be sinning, then set your mind and heart on seeking the Lord and seeking His will for your life, and if He wants you to do more with your life, He will guide you in that way.

But you must "chose this day whom you will serve" - yourself or God.

To avoid sinning - choose God.

Make sense?

Micah 6:8

... He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Dear sister in Christ I read your statement today. This passage above than came immediately to my mind as I read it. I hope it can be a source of inspiration and peace for your soul.

With Love  Suzana.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
