do bi-racial people make you uncomfortable? do interracial couples make you uncomfortable? do you think it is irresponsible to have bi-racial kids?

i'm not uncomfortable with bi-racial people at all, nor am i uncomfortable with interracial couples. as for it being irresponsible to have kids, i think the following situations fall into that category... and it doesn't matter what their skin-color is:

people who are unable to financially support themselves

people who abuse alcohol or drugs

people who still think life is one big party

people who are not married

people who are abusive or in an abusive relationship

and note those are not in any particular order... and that ethnicity is totally irrelevant. any two people who are committed to each other (through marriage) and who do not depend on welfare or someone else to support them, who take life seriously, have every right to choose to have children.

RE: "people who are unable to financially support themselves"

So are you saying that no one who has a mental or physical disability that prevents them from being able to engage in significant employment should be allowed to have children?

(Maybe this is too off-topic, but it falls under the discrimination umbrella)

read through my subsequent posts. i think i made it pretty clear what i was saying.

Ok. I went back and read your posts.

I disagree. I would be more than happy for my tax dollars to help a couple who---for instance--were injured in an auto accident and were not able to earn a living, to have a child.

Peace,

Fiosh

Side note: as lovely as your family is, the number of photos in your posts slows down my already slow computer. I have to wait a full 2 minutes to open this thread as the pictures download.

DoK, Jesus died so ALL of us can be saved, assuming that all came to accept Him.

Galatians 3:28-29 in my sig line. We are all one in Jesus, all of us are heirs to the promise of Abraham.

That is really what matters. Who we are in Christ.

fiosh, we can agree to disagree (and should probably start another thread on the topic.) i wouldn't resent a couple in such a scenario as you suggested using my tax dollars, and i don't mind my tax dollars paying for the birth of my grandson either. but the issue is not about what we would want done with our tax dollars, but what choices are responsible ones and which are irresponsible ones. we don't get to choose who gets our tax dollars... and most of the time, it is the ones who have no desire to work, and to take financial care of their offspring, that get our money.

ps, i removed the photos from my sigtag... they were way out of date anyway. does it load faster now?

Hi LadyC,

I agree to disagree also ---out of respect to DoK. I think we mainly agree anyway.

Yes, it's much faster without the pics. Thanks. :24:

This is getting ridiculous. The Bible does not teach there is only one race. A simple read through it will confirm this. It teaches there are Jews, Arabs, Samaritans, Gentiles, Persians, etc. It also teaches all are to be treated equal.

Where in the Bible does it say, "There is only one race" or is the concept even taught?

To answer your absurd question, He died for every man, woman, and child.

How is this getting "ridiculous"?

The Bible teaches that there are different cultures for sure, but only one race.

Acts 17:26

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

How much more clear can God say it?

ALL the nations of ALL the world are of the same blood.

It's getting ridiculous because you're ignoring common sense mate. Blood and race are two totally different items. We all bleed red, but we aren't all the same colour. Again, common sense.

Maybe it would help if you would each define what you mean by "race".

In the summer I am reddish brown. In the winter I am pale beige. I guess that makes me trans-racial

You ignored the "and." That's slightly important.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
