The lead actor in the new film "End of the Spear" (a christian-themed film) is Chad Allen, who is openly gay. Here are a couple of links to transcripts from when he was on Larry King last year talking about homosexuality and depression:

CNN: Larry King 1

CNN: Larry King 2

What are your thoughts on the casting? Was this a poor choice? Why or why not?

While I cannot support the decisions this actor has made regarding His homosexual lifestyle, I don't believe that those decisions should be an issue in whether or not he got the role.

I actually think it's awesome. He got to not only hear the gospel, but be a part of spreading it whether he realizes it or not :noidea: But you'd be surprised, I've already heard several believers say how this upsets them. Geeze.

The personal life of an actor shouldnt mean much in a film. The actor is there to be a character, not himself. He is helping to portray a story.

The way I look at this sort of topic, is to remember all sin a measured the same in God eyes. We shouldnt be so focused on what that sin is in the person. What we should focus on is the heart of the person. Some people struggle with homosexuality but desire to escape from it- just as each of us struggle with our own sin and constantly pray that God heals us.

There is no way we can know the actors heart, but at least its a good film and Good will come out of it. God uses those whom we always seem to see as unworthy. :noidea:

Van Morrison has done a ton of gospel tunes but has openly confessed he doesn't believe in Jesus.

I wonder how many christians appeared in the ten commandments.

If the enemy wants to give glory to God, it just shows what an idiot he is. :noidea:

Let me ask you a question...

The man who played Jesus in The Passion was a liar. He lied several times in his life. In fact, he's going to do it many times more before he dies. Do you think it was a good choice to have him in that role?

Of course it was, he did an excellent job!

The point being that in God's eye's, sin is sin. We cannot put homosexuality as a bigger sin than lieing because they are both equal, both are sins in God's eyes. Sin is between us and God. It is up to Him to judge, not us.

Matthew 7: "Stop judging others, and you will not be judged. 2For others will treat you as you treat them.[a] Whatever measure you use in judging others, it will be used to measure how you are judged. 3And why worry about a speck in your friend's eye when you have a log in your own? 4How can you think of saying, `Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,' when you can't see past the log in your own eye? 5Hypocrite! First get rid of the log from your own eye; then perhaps you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend's eye.

The best we can do is preach the word and plant the seeds so that people may choose light.

wow this sounds like another issue for Jerry Farwell because it sounds like a telly tubby issue to me. Did you know that actors of the will and Grace are in real life too straight people who have straight family lives and not two gay people. Go Figure? The telly tubbies are still on the air educating our young children about simple learning. Who cares? I don't see the big deal. Just another starving actor getting acting job. For a whole lot of money I could act straight too. Almost every straight actor has been in a dress or two in there careers but we still have fun with it and move on with life because it does not seem to make huge difference. No one would have ever known or cared if it was not huge deal for you in the first place.

Is this actor making an issue of his life style? or is everyone else making an issue about it because they don't approve of the lifestyle?

I don't approve of his life style but he is an actor and that is what I have remember. The issue of his life style is not even what the movie is about.

I'm surprrised to hear a stink about this when nothing was critcally said about the gay cowboy movie that just came out and won several grammys or whatever. I think the name of the movie was Broken hearted or something like that.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
