Do you believe there is life on any of the galaxies/planets?

Yes, most probably. Comets and asteroids have been discovered to contain amino acids - proving these can survive even in the harsh conditions of outer space. I don't doubt that on planets elsewhere in this galaxy, and elsewhere in the universe - these compounds have gone into producing organic lifeforms - and that through a process of evolution by natural selection, similar to that seen on earth, those lifeforms have diversified, speciated, become cellular and multicellular, and even intelligent.

It would be the highlight of my life if such life was discovered, even better if we met such beings (although this is much less likely). Our horizons, so narrowly focused on earth, would be instantly expanded into the waiting universe. Here's hoping.

However, I am still waiting for Michael Renne to land his spaceship in Washington DC like in The Day the Earth Stood Still and I am also not holding my breath. Unfortunately they usually seem to fly and land in distant rural areas with few witnesses and they never say take me to your leader.

Oh, happy days. Remember Forbidden Planet? And Ann Francis? What a wonderful wondeful movie - technicolor, and the first ever to use synthesised sound. A modern remake of Shakespeare's "The Tempest", they just don't make 'em like they used to.

And isn't it ironic that as we stand here at the early morning of the new millenium that Michael Rennie's warning about nuclear power and weaponary should still be being debated, and attracting so much attention on the news.

Of course this issue is often brought up and portrayed as a threat to the Christian faith and that is why the mainline press always gets so excited with any new discovery of possible life beyond our planet. They believe if they can prove there is other life then they assume that destroys the truth of the Bible for some reason. However that is not really the case since the Bible doesn't really say anything one way or the other about the issue.

Do you really think that the press gets excited because it's portrayed as a threat to christianity? I think it's because it's something us (humans) have been looking for - for ages, & that it would change life on Earth as we know it.

Even if christianity wasn't around I think the press would go nuts. Where did you get the notion that they get excited because it's portrayed as a threat to christianity?

I don't know if there are people God created on planets in a galaxy far far away...

God knows ..but I do like science fiction movies ...well most of them...

If God saw fit to bring them here in a spaceship if they exist then so what would be the big deal...

Scientists have more evidence to suggest there is such life capable of emitting radio signals

and then maybe God put signals out there to mess with minds....

Is There Life in Outer Space?

Those who believe life exists on distant planets usually base that belief on the following reasoning:

Life evolved on Earth. Because the universe is so immense and contains so many heavenly bodies, life probably evolved on other planets as well.

This reasoning is flawed. First, it assumes life evolved on Earth. Overwhelming evidence shows life is so complex it could not have evolved

as a christian, i find it quite possible that God created intelligent lifeforms on other planets in other galaxies. if He did, then no doubt they also have a Bible to follow.

also, if He did, i find it very probable that He, in His infinite wisdom, never intended for them to become involved in our world, nor us in theirs.

i find it difficult to draw the conclusion that all UFO sightings have been government experiments, although that is possible. but i'll tell ya, driving out in the desert during the middle of the night when it is pitch black, you can sure see some things near area 51 that have yet to ever be explained in any rational way.

however, i also find it difficult to draw the conclusion that all UFO sightings are intelligent beings from another world. i think it is extremely likely that most, if not all, alien encounters and all alien abductions are supernatural experiences of a demonic nature. after all, satan is a master of deception and also uses just enough truth to confuse the issue.
