Found that although I liked the sense of worship there I could not agree with their theology..

Quit going to church for about 5 years and then met some nice Charismatic folks and !!! wow did my life change ..

Attended that church for about 30 years .

I still consider myself Charismatic, if I need a name, no matter what church I find myself attending...

Oh My Dear...

What is the first thing to go when you get OLD...

I cannot think of any reason why I would have forgotten this little part of my Christian experience...WOW..

Insert this between the Catholic experience and the Charismatic one..

I met a young man who was choir director at the Presbyterian church and we started dating and we went to that church for a couple of years..

YUP..name is Andy....

I was raised Seventh day Adventist

Saved in a Pentecostal church, too crazy for me at the time, joined a Southern Baptist, ended up right in the middle in a Bapticostal church. Abba's House Hixson, TN Love it! It is where I'm s'posed to be!

As a child I attended the Assembly of God church, then my mother's sisters attended the Church of Christ. The Chruch of Christ is where I was baptised. Now the first time I was baptised in this church I was 10 yrs old and was frightened into it by the minister and a bunch of other members who said if I had died right then and there I would burn in hell. My mother was out of town and my sisters and I were staying with our aunt, so we all marched up to the baptismal in fear to get dunked in the tub. You may notice a little sarcasm in my words because that really was what it meant to me at the time and the belief I today is that children are innocent and baptism at a young age is useless because God finds children innocent and blameless. After that baptism I walked around in a lot of guilt all the time because I hadn't changed a bit. I was still the same person, still acted the same, thought the same...and thought for sure that I was doomed to burn in the fiery pits forever because it must not have worked.

Needless to say after I became an age to make my own decisions I did not attend any churches because of the sour taste left in my mouth from my past and the fact that I still though for sure I was a lost soul.

It will be 8 years this summer since I was baptised. It was also in the Church of Christ. I do not attend that church any longer but it is for reasons I could not explain until recently. But I can say that even as a young Christian I knew that the doctrinal beliefs just did not mesh with what the Lord had written on my heart. Today I am a member of a brand new church, it is probably only 6 months to a year in age. It is called Life Changes Church and is held in a little upstairs room in a clean and sober/women's shelter. The minister is a woman who when I first met her I could feel so strongly the Holy Spirit in her that when she reached out her hand to shake mine I stepped up to her, put my arms around her and said with tears in my eyes it is so good to see you. As if we were long lost friends, my soul knew hers.

I attend every Sunday to celebrate the Lord. That is what we do there, we celebrate and have Spirit filled sermons that leave me crying and refreshed as I have never been in any other church or other services. I truly believe that is what attending church should be like. Kind of like when Moses met God on the mountain. When he returned from his meeting he would shine so brite and as the days past the brightness would dim. How refreshing it is for me to attend a place where I am renewed weekly in prayer and ministry that sees me through from Sunday to Sunday.

To me this is what Christ intended for His church congregations.

The church I now attend and share their worship is Glenside United Church of Christ. All though I share in the worship and support the church wi th money and my time I am not a congreational member.By The Grace of God, Iwas convicted of my sin and of my need of the for Lord Jesus Christ. And so I am a member of the church that meets there. I can share the worship of any church that raises up The Lord Jesus Christ. Love in Christ littlejoe

I am VERY happy with the church I am at now. I was raised and baptized mormon, my dad is a disciples of christ minister, and I spend several years in adulthood looking for a church I liked. I finally found one about a year ago. It is the church of God, it has contempory worship, and the congregation and pastor seem genuinely concerned for the well being of the people who worship there. We are doing the program of reading the bible in 90 days and I am truly enjoying it. My church is not too big or too small, but just right. Shortly after my youngest was born, we had not been going there for very long, he had to have surgery. I was very impressed with the outpouring of love and concern for not only me, but for my son as well. I think I will be with this church for quite some time. GOOD question though.

I go to a Church of God (Anderson). Website is: www.chog.org

I love my church very much. I jumped from church to church until I found this one. I'm a Sunday school teacher of preschool & kindergarden crowd. Very happy to be there. :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
