I watched a video called *They sold their souls for rock and roll*  about a month ago,and let me tell you it opened my eyes about a lot of the rock bands from the 60s up until now.But I must say the 60s and 70 music was just a prelude to what is being sung today.Who would of known the lyrics would get more satanic and antichristian as time moved on? I can only imagine what it will be like 20 years from now.

At any rate the video was done after the Columbine incident to show how much

persuasion music has on the younger generation.

I was thinking of an old song the other day.

I have no need of friendship

friendship causes pain

Its laughter is something I distain

I'm not sure what the last line said, but how Satanic is that? How many parents today would object if the their kids listened to Simon and Garfield?

lol!

That reminds me of a Christian video done about exposing the evils of rap music. One point they made was the focus on "self" coming through in rap music, and how this contradicts the teaching in Scripture.

Just then, they brought up a clip of Frank Sinatra singing, "I did it my way!" followed with a note: "Mom, Dad - this is for you!"

I'm sorry nebula I guess I said that wrong because I didn't mean it to be funny or sarcastic. We really do have to guard against Santa

I understand, and I agree!

I just find humor in ironies.

(And the way the video I mentioned showed it, it did have a humorous approach to it).

But you are right, it is serious.

its very sad this music issue. and its even sadder cos most people depend on music to "worship" God.

i was watching our Christian channel on friday night cos they have the only Christian video show for half an hour on Friday. as i was watching . . i was so saddened cos the songs seemed like they were made to appeal to both christians and the world and i guess they use the oldest excuse in the book which is they want to bring the secular ones to the Lord which is nonsense cos the way some of those videos were made did not suggest whatsoever that they were about God. instead . .they were doing the gothic thing and the whole darkness thing like evanescence. its really sad. i had to turn it off even though i liked some of the songs. they term them worship songs but it would be very surprising to even hear the mention of the name of Jesus in some of these songs. now that i dont listen to secular anymore . . its hard for me to tell the diff btwn the so called christian songs and the secular ones. sometimes i have to stop and check if i am not playing my brother's cd or something cos the similarity in language and everything is so astounding.

Demonic screaming, eh?

I'm guessing death metal. Basically people scream unintelligibly at the top of their lungs while hitting drums as fast and hard as they can with an electric guitar with the distortion cranked up also being played loud.

Me... I listen to other stuff, stuff that makes sense :t2:

I find agreeance with our friend, Teh Wiccan. If it doesn't make sense, or you can't understand it, why listen to it???? On The Beverly Hillbillies, Jethrene (Jethro's sister) was "singing". Granny told Pearl she needed to tend to her sick child. Pearl told Granny she wasn't sick, to which Granny replied that she was singing sick. A minute later, Granny went on to say, "Nobody makes a noise like that on purpose." So, I would say that about metal music-nobody makes a noise like that on purpose! I used to hear some of the most gosh-awful sounding stuff on the Muzak system where I used to work. I would joke around and say, "How nice of these folks to highlight those who are less fortunate and can't truly sing or perform. I guess they're hoping someone will take pity on them and get them some singing lessons." I really loved saying that when the "hey now, you're an all-star" song came on-most stupid song I've heard!

I read an article about this a while back where they had asked rock stars what they thought. They all said that rock and roll was the devil's music. One said "and it always has been". They say when you compare the amount of time that kids spend listening to radio or watching tv to how much time you really get to spend with them, you figure out who's raising your children. It's not fair to blame Columbine on music though, those kids(and 85% of the other school shooters) were on ritalin, which is oulawed in most other nations for causing psychotic tendencies in children under 18.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
