I'm sorry, just couldn't resist it! Now, talk about good eating, I've had a couple of sub sandwiches today. First time I had ham, 2nd time I had BBQ ham. I do them on a wheat sub bun with light mayo, onion, mushroom, green olives, javanero peppers, jalapeno peppers (homegrown by my uncle, so they're hotter!), and banana peppers! When I have them, I like to add bell peppers as well. Very tasty!!! Then, I chase it down with a couple of glasses of water. I guess that is paying off for me! This morning, on a whim, I decided to put on a pair of pants that have been snug for a long time-perfect fit!!! Next I'll start looking at what shirts I can get back into!

No wonder you are losing weight. It is all those peppers you eat. Yuk! Leave the peppers off and olives and that sounds like a good sandwich.

Dove,

I used to couldn't stomach hot food-really. A friend of mine who I used to go to church with got me started on sprinkling cayenne pepper on everything. He said it wasn't really hotter than black pepper (when done in moderation of course) and was good for arthritis. I do have arthritis from the car wrecks I've been through, so I decided to give it a try. I eventually moved on to eating other stuff as well that was hot until today, I can stomach just about anything that is hot. The peppers are really good for you and so are the olives, but leaving them off still makes a good sandwich. BTW, my wife would completely agree with you on the peppers and olives!

Ovedya, all of that is completely what I would expect from what I have learned. I lived in Orange County for my entire life (until moving away 2 years ago) and every time I would drive by TBN's monumental palace, I mean "facility, I could see how the place was all about money. If you drive by it during the Christmas season they have what must be a $50,000 Christmas light display.

I remember watching TBN one time and at the end of the show it showed Jan hop into her BMW and drive off.

I've really only watched " This week in bible prophesy" on TBN. I liked peter and Paul Lalonde. I find most TV evagelists to be shallow and cheesey.

Terry Winters was good. He had Chuck Colsen on as a guest a lot. Chuck Colsen is one of Nixons aids that got busted. He found God just before the trial and spilled the beans about everything in watergate. He later developed a prison ministry. :)

River,

I think you're right-the money gets to their God-given intellect of knowing better.  I'm of the opinion that a lot of these people started out sincere, but then as the money increased became more and more about the money.

I think this is what happened to Brother Jimmy Swaggart-I still consider the man anointed of God.  I think he got so big that he thought he was a Superman of God and could get away with it, but he found out he couldn't and got brought down low.  Now, why God chose to let Brother Swaggart take such a big fall when others who are in the WOF movement (which I don't believe Jimmy was or is now in) are raking in dough by the millions by sheer deception, I'll never understand this side of Heaven.  But, I'll tell you one thing-come to my house and let me dig out my old Swaggart LP's and 8-tracks, and you'll hear some of the most anointed music you've ever heard, especially the early albums.

Also, I'm curious why our WOF defender friend hasn't been on here to defend TBN? :taped:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

bro.jimmy swaggart helped start the wof movement along with kenneth hagin(i beleive)bro. jimmy swaggart now denouces wof he is on spike and bet neworks on sunday and cmt (about5 in the morning i think) daily for a study in the word.bro.jimmy swaggart says when people put you up on a pedestal it goes to your head and i quit listening to him when he fell, but about 8 months ago i found him on the radio.i was ready to quit going to church, because our pastor wants benny hinn and the like to come to our church.i have started praying instead that God renews the spirit our church once had..bro.swaggart has a book called *THE CROSS OF CHRIST* false doctrine it covers the wof movement ,the goverment of 12 and the purpose driven life-church ..opened my eyes to a lot of things that the modern churches are preaching today and what the bible says about these preachers and movements ..

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
