Could you explain your answer to me. I asked if you believed if it is possible for a man to know all things.

For instance:

Could a man know what it is like to be omniscient?

Could a man know what it is like to see the end of time from the beginning?

Could a man know what it is like to be perfect?

could a man know how to create a universe?

Could a man know what it is like to be AWARE at more than one place at the same time- since God is omni-present lets limit it to just 100 places. Could a man know what it is like to be aware in 100 places at the same time?

You can see where I am leading this to. Man can know very little of what is in God's knowledge. We do not have the capacity to know as he knows. As Isaiah says, his thought are far removed from our thoughts. To know all knowledge, is impossible for man.

Just to get into this conversation........

I havn't studied this for awhile, in the Navy i was stationed with a southern man who believed that speaking in tounges and faith healing and all that is still working in the world. that we could do the things that the men of the bible did all taht time ago if we pray and truly believe that God will allow us to, he even believed that he had done it, like a lot of you i see.

I'm lacking the biblio to back all this up, but i am hitting the books to get references to what i say, though i have to say that some of this may have been a lesson recieved orally and not from a book at all, i'll do my best.

Tounges are something like prophesy, in that God doesn't need them any more, there are no more prophets, everything we need is in the Book. In the times of the prophets, and even Jesus's disciples, there was no Bible, so God had to communicate things to us here on earth, and did so, through tounges and prophesy, but thats not needed today, God does not need to 'pass the word,' through us any more, its all in the book, follow the teachings of Jesus, and wait for his return. Some of us feel God compelled to preach, i prayed about it, and i feel that God is leading me to go into nursing, so i did, and i love it, i am doing it because God told me to, i do my best to listen. But he is just talking to me, not to the masses, that is a reserved priveledge of those that feel they are being led to a teaching position of His Word, He has already told us to go into the world and teach the Gospel, thats all thats left, no need for prophets or tounges, we know we need to try and save as many as possible before Christ's return, thats the last request until the end.

I look foward to this debate really, and i'm glad i decided to participate in the boards again after a year of just reading.........

Well crabs ,

I feel that IF God spoke through men it would not be anything not in the Bible. I do not like to limit what God can do at anytime. But I believe He puts limits to what He does for us. Just check all things with Scripture and pray about it. Knowledge is power - always read and learn and it will not be so easy for someone to fool you.

the rules are in effect, and those guilty will perish, those found to be righteous will live ( righteous only through Christ )...

when some one says they no longer fall under the law, they usually are trying to justify something, what is really being said, is that we no longer fall under the penalty of the law once we have Christ as our Lord, this does not give us the license to continue to sin. our lives should be living witness to Christ with out ever having to say a single word, the fruit we produce should be lasting fruit.

if a person reads the Bible, they will find that the Lord has told us already that toungs will be used in these days,

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

I have personally searched the Word of God over, and have found no where does it say that the Gifts of the Spirit have been revolked. if this is true, show me where.... for if the Gifts of the Spirit have been removed, then we might as well stop praying for that healing we keep trying to get... for HEALING is one of the nine gifts....

personally, i know (not just believe, but know beyond any doubt... I know that I know that I know ) the gifts are in full swing this day. witnessed healings, witnessing tongues, interpretation, prophecy, Knowledge, Wisdome, Discernment, Faith, and other Miricles...

a friend of ours, came to church from what her 7 year old boy said to her... she was living in this world and of this world, full blown HIV... confirmed several times over the years. her son told her that they ( her kids ) were going to go to hell and that she would be the one that would be responsible for them going to hell. she started bringing them to church, and after a couple weeks, she turned her life over to Christ. she was annointed, and prayed over by the elders the children spent time in prayer, and this lady no longer has HIV at all, not even in remission, but like in GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

she followed what James told her to do. she spent time on her knees, praying for her salvation and direction and other things in her life, and she had the elders called upon, and she was annointed and prayed over and her sins have been forgiven, and she was healed.....

HEALED, NOT CURED. doctors can only cure something, not heal.... God Heals....

I am one of the bigest skeptics there was about speaking in tongues, the Lord showed me otherwise...

not all that is gabbed, spoken said, is a message from the Lord... this is where we must judge the message, not the deliverer... we must judge it IAW Gods Holy Word.

.I have a few thing on my heart and I apologize that I just do not feel up to a debate right now..

I am not a debater to begin with..

It is not fun to me..I just do not like to leave people wondering..

I did not want to fail to show you what I believe..
