Has anyone ever done a study on the tabernacle? the tabernacle is full of symblism of the Trinity especially Jesus Christ.

I am not totally up on all of it but have been in a few discussions with my pastor and find it very interesting. I am going to start reading a book on this very subject and will share what I have learned.

God-man I am in total agreement with you on this and believe that the scriptures are full of them. Jesus said that you search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life, and it is these that testify of Me.

Have you ever noticed the picture of the scape goat in leviticus?

in short there were two goats offered for the sins of Israel. Lots were cast for the two goats one for a blood sacrifice and the other the scape goat.

The high priest was to lay his hands on the scape goat and confess the sins of the people. (Lev 16:20-24) and all the sins of Israel were passed onto the scapegoat.

now notice in Matthew 3 the baptism of Jesus, John the baptist representing the high priest, laid his hands on Jesus passing the sins of the world onto Jesus.

back to leviticus 16:22 " And the goat shall bear upon it all thier iniquities unto a land not inhabited, and shall let go the goat in the wilderness"

as you can see the goat was lead to the wilderness and let go, this is symbolic of the Holy Spirit leading Jesus into the wilderness after he had taken the sins of the world upon Himself.

ok back to Matthew 4:1 "Then was Jesus led up by the Spirit into the wilderness.."

now back to leviticus and then Aaron was to offer the blood sacrifice for to (Jesus the high priest offering the blood sacrifice via the cross too the) to make attonement for himself and the people.

I find all this too hard to put in words, but with this in mind I believe you will really be blessed to go and read leviticus 16 and compare it to the Lord Jesus and His ministry on earth. Also you can see the Trinity in perfect unity for the sacrifice and forgiveness of sin.

I wish I was a little more articulate in my writting, but it is not one of my strong points, but maybe one day. but any way I hope you understand what I am trying to get across.

This chapter in lev 16 is very powerful in understanding the attonement for sin when read in harmony with Jesus and what He did for us.

John 1:29 "...Behold the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world"

I Love this thread! I'm not much at contributing, but I'm hanging on every word. :t2:

I heard a sermon once on how the Tabernacle represented Christ once that was so beautiful. Wish I could remember all the points. One I do remember was how the outside was covered in skins.......Isaiah 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

Wish I could remember all the points.....

REally quick, then I have to go home and take care of the kids. I'll get into detail tomorrow...

The Tabernacle is related to the experience of the Christian life and the triune God can be viewed there also.

The Tabernacle in typology can be a picture of salvation and the church. To enter into the church, the Body of Christ, you must have two things, the blood and the water. To enter into the taberncle you must have the blood offering (the sacrifice) and you must wash your hands in the laver. Once in the holy place there are the furnishings. The showbread table represents Christ as food (John 6), then the lampstand represents the churches individually and corporately (fellowship and light - Rev. 1 - the lampstands), then the incense altar which represents the prayers of the saints (Also in Revelation, I'll have the verses tomorrow).

The Triune God in the Tabernacle: The water and laver - the washing in the water of the Word - a type of the Spirit, for life and for building up. The sacrifice on the altar - Christ as our eternal sacrifice (Hebrews 4, I think, "He entered once..."), and the Father seen in the holiest of holies (Also in Hebrews - Christ as our high priest entering once for all into the holiest of holies and pouring out His blood as an eternal sacrifice upon the altar. The writer of Hebrews uses the altar in the Tabernacle as a metaphore for heaven).

Like I said, I have more to add to this; this is only bare bones 'cause I gotta scoot. It may read kind of funny right now, but I'll expound more later so that it makes more sense.

Even the color of the threads that were woven on the breast plate, the gate, etc.

Blue = the baptism of Christ that took away the sins of the world

Red = The blood of Christ that was shed for the remission of sin

purple = the royalty of Christ as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

I too look forward to your next post God-man

The vision of Christ in the tabernacle.

In Exodus 25:8-9 God told His people to make a tabernacle. He gave them specific plans on how to build His future dwelling place in the midst of the children of Israel. In the tabernacle we can see Christ prefigured in each piece of the design. In John 1:14 we read that Christ, the Word become flesh, came and

WHEW! I told you it would be long....

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
