Bible translations/versions?

My sword of choice is the KJB and unless something drastic happens will always be the version I read and preach from.

Jesus did not speak in King James English nor did he speak in "modern English" either.

I think I agree maybe.

KJV is also similar to greak due to it's use of words, I prefer KJV, just hope they would also have translated to spanish

The Spanish Reina Valera 1909 is supposed to be good translation.

That's the one I read in spanish, but still has differences compared to KJV, while I don't read The Bible much ( I should though) I like reading KJV rather then in spanish, but thanks a lot for info

You'll get no "flack" from me and hopefully no one else. I asked for opinions and I appreciate all of them and everyone who took the time to offer them. You presented very sounds reasoning for your choice. I certainly didn't mean to imply anything about education in my post. I was just mentioning that when I tried to find web sites that addressed the differences between them, that's kind of what I was running into. Sites that spit out reading levels. That didn't really tell me anything. I'm a high school graduate. Nothing more.

For the short run, I will read one of the newer translations. I also didn't mean to imply I would ever just leave my KJV. This will be in addition to. Actually, I selected a woman's devotional Bible, NIV. I carry it around in my "going to work bag" (we women love bags in addition to purses <grin>). Just reading the board is enlightening. Many times the threads are discussion of verses and meanings, or eventually wander into it. And I did get E-Sword loaded. What a nice program. Thanks to all who sent me the link.
