Hello everyone not sure if this is proper place for this thread or not but here goes.

I was a reading and responding to a thread in the apologetic area entitled "Personal Savior" and I happened to read elder brother Ovedya's comment that happened to follow one on mine.

And as I was a reading what Ovedya said they was something he said that got me a thinking about something.

This is only a part quote of what he said,--- "If you don't believe that Jesus has the ability to meet you exactly where you are you're trying to do something in order to earn His trust"

Now I want it plain here that I am not picking on Ovedya here. I just got a thought from his quote and am going with it. What if we turned it around instead of us trusting in God for a moment and looked at it and asked.---- What can God trust us with in our relationship with Him?

Are we trust worthy to God? These are the thoughts I introducing into this thread. As I'm just curious.

A few scriptures to ponder so you can see my train of thought.

James 2:23--Abraham is referred to a Friend of God.

John 15:14-15--a distinction is being made between a servant relationship vs a friendship relationship with God.

Any thoughts, ideas, scriptures are all welcome

2Co 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Jud 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Jud 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Jud 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

Jud 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

Jud 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

I am going to fail Him, and I know it...but I pray that I do not...

When I do I have an advocate..

1Jo 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Heb 12:3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

Heb 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

He loves us and we love Him ....the best we can....my thoughts...

For years now I have made it a habit to ask myself the question, "Am I trustworthy in this situation?" It is amazing how it helps to bring me into right responses and diligence rather than procrastination. Indeed God is not going to trust people who have not in the past shown themselves to be faithful with tasks that take perseverance. Stewards have to be proven faithful. So in every detail of life I think it important to ask myself if I am proving trustworthy in the task. I really do desire God to continue to use me and not have to set me aside because I have proven with past tasks to be lazy!

I seldom focus on what I can do ....

When I focus on my abilities I find I fall short ....

I know If my focus is on Him I will never be disappointed..

Because I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me ...I can obey Him...

I submit ...He empowers....

Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Hello Shepherdsgrace

You have good thoughts here to ponder. I kinda see in the gospel's when I read where Jesus would be teaching the multitudes and leaving his truths with them then he would take His disciples aside and further enlighten them. entrusting them with the truth further. As they truly were Jesus' friends and not just one of the multitudes. I kinda feel like God want to call from out of the multitudes that have been given the truth and he wants to make friends out of us and share things with us on a deep and more personal level which friends do if they are around each other long enough. But will we be faithful friends to Christ alone in order for this to happen in our lives. thanks again for comments

Hello tah

thanks for your comments Abraham was refered to as a "Friend" of God someone in which God Himself could confide in and entrust with His plans they were many on the earth He could have chosen but it seems there was something special about Abraham the others in his time didn't seem to have and that was his faith he believed God meaning when God visited him and shared with him Abraham just simply believed God as God shared His self with him. That was a true friend to friend relationship on God's part. Not just a servant relationship but a confiding relationship in which God trusted Abraham with His will. blessings

Thank you Butero

All the scriptures you give are good ones and seem to go with my train of thoughts. It seem everybody talks about us trusting in God all the time and I find myself sharing my heart and soul with Him so many times but often find that it seems just a one sided relationship going on. I just want to be a friend to Jesus as well not just He being my Friend but me being His Friend also. I want and desire for Him to share things with me that I don't know about Him I want to know what He is feeling and what He is thinking for He knows these things about me as I cried out to Him so many times telling Him so.

I want to be a friend and not just a servant to Him and the scriptures you bring to this thread is very good. For they show our stewardship things being given to us by God as He is entrusting us with His things. thank you for comments as I want to know him in a more personal way and become His friend that will stick by His side.

blessings

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
