OK, I get the difference between deliberate sin and sin committed "on the spur of the moment". I struggled with the question as to why God heals some of us "from day one" and not others, i.e. some who may suffer from depression or be drug addicts or alcoholics or porn addicts or whatever, come out of the sin that is controlling their life, or are healed of the condition, immediately, while others are left to struggle with it on their own.

New Christians can be very weak and where some find that as long as they have Christ in their life they can do anything, others feel just as fragile as before.

So what if you are a drug addict and had "come to the Lord" but still had to struggle with ending this addiction on your own, and then you were actually in the process of lighting a joint or injecting yourself as you found you could not "just go cold turkey" and the rapture occurred or Jesus arrived again?

Would he forgive you knowing what was "in your heart", or judge you for your sin and leave you behind?

Thoughts?

Jesus knows who are his. He is the author and perfector of our faith. He came for sinners, not the righteous.

There is a lot of truth in whay you both say here. I think it's pretty obvious that when the Lord arrives unexpectedly, there will be some people who are new to the faith and are struggling with some sin they are trying to quit because of the conviction of the Holy Spirit. I have no idea how the Lord will judge those young christians, but if a person, who has read the bible thoroughly for years and years and is in the midst of deliberate sinning on the Lord's return, then that person deserves the same treatment as the five foolish virgins. God will not be mocked. If you take up the cross and follow Him, you better be prepared to carry it all the way. If it gets too heavy don't dump it on the side of the road and go back to where you started. Lay it down for a spell and pray and take it up again. He knows the pain and I believe He will restrengthen you, because that's what He is like.

my thoughts anyway.

Hey Suzanne, I've missed you.

Greetingsin His name,

eric

No neb, I said you were in the glorious hot air balloon because you seem relatively uninterested in repentance yet very interested in your good works.

:) Saint - would you please listen to what I am actually saying. For the umpteenth dozen time, that isn't what I was saying.

 Hearing and listening are two different things. What you have said I said has a completely different meaning than what I actually said.

"Addicted" is a made up word that gives credence to the power of the enemy, rather than the Power of the Lord to deliver. "Addicted" is a lie, to sooth consciences and passify those who want to continue on in their sin lifestyle.

John 5:14

Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, "See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you."

John 8:11

"No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."

Do we believe?

John 15:22

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin.

Joh 15:24

If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.

John 16:8

When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment:

Joh 16:9

in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me;

1Corinthians 15:34

Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God--I say this to your shame.

2Peter 2:14

With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed--an accursed brood!

His Power is sufficient!

In His Love,

Suzanne

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
