Civilians are being killed because hizbula(sp)is using them as shields.

They are setting up their offensive in residential areas thinking that Isreal won't bomb there.

They were wrong.

Civilian casualties are a fact of war.

Maybe the civilians will get sick of it and kick the hizbolas out.

As far as the second question goes....

The initial attack ON Isreal was religiously motivated. They do not think Isreal has a right to even exist.

They HATE the Jews.

Isreals retaliation was an act of self survival, neither political nor religious.

My opinions are religiously based.

Based on human rights biblically stated.

Jesus was the most peaceful person in the world and it didn't stop an evil mob from torturing and crucifying Him. Passivism does not work, in fact all it does is empower evil people, because like one of our recent posters said, they take it as a sign of weakness, not compassion.

Jesus was passive, because it was what He was supposed to be. I guarantee that Jesus will not be so "weak" (according to the wicked) the next time He comes here.

Our society is becoming more and more unraveled everyday. Liberals foolishly believe we are progressing into a more civil society. But, really, how can a society that has murdered over 40 million babies alone, and that embraces hedonistic, atheistic lifestyles claim to be civil? If it is ok to have sex with whatever we want, whenever we want, then how does that make us different from the monkeys in the jungle? When we embrace the laws of the jungle, (only strong survive) by practicing euthanasia, how does that make us different from the jackals preying on the weak gazelles? I didn't want to use lions as an example, because symbolically lions are considered honorable, powerful, respectful beasts.

I got off the subject, but I hope my post is in the context of it.

My point is that whenever we show any kind of mercy or compassion to merciless people, they do not respect us more. They laugh at us, see us as weak and plan their next moves to kill us. A cease-fire has never worked in the middle-east and it never will. The only thing that works is absolution. Absolute victory or absolute defeat. When will we learn to stop believing their promises (treaties)? I think, never. I believe Christ will return before any form of long lasting peace can exist in the middle-east

I have to disagree. The life of Jesus Christ is the greatest example of non-violence in the history of civilization. Jesus could have raised huge armies to battle evil and injustice. Yet he did not. I certainly cannot see how anyone could read the Gospels and take from them than Jesus would support a war. My brother and I were just talking about this the other day. We were talking about how remarkable it is that some of the most devout Christians that we know are the first to say things like we should Nuke Iran. Would Jesus Christ use nuclear weapons? Of course not. Then again, as my brother pointed out, he would not build them either.

The world is not black and white, and its a mistake to assume that it is.

As to progressing as a society, in some ways we are, and in some ways we are not. On one hand, we are becoming a more materialistic society and sex sells like nothing else anymore. However, on balance, we used to see nothing wrong at all with owning men as property and horsewhipping slaves, beating our wives, poisening and exploiting the land, child labor, poverty rates where people at times litteraly starved to death, or slaugthering hundreds of thousands of indians. We have never truely been a moral society, but on balance, in many ways we probably are better than we used to be.

Err . . . taken to its logical conclusion, you are calling man "god."

I have a hard time accepting this is what the Lord God meant by this.

no it means that man is made in the image of God so in attacking someone you are attacking an image of God. It means you must have the upmost respect for other people, whoever they may be. Not always something I'm particularly good at.

And what will you say about His return? :)

It's not going to be a pretty sight on earth, and Jesus will lead the slaughter.

Still, though, I can picture many people protesting His violent return.

I certainly cannot see how anyone could read the Gospels and take from them than Jesus would support a war.

Interesting.....

Matthew 24 gives us a glimpse of what the return of Jesus will be like. Not very pretty, is it?

And that comes straight out of the GOSPEL of Matthew. There are plenty of places within the entire Bible which describe the return of Jesus, and that return will bring justice by His sword.

Saying that Jesus did not advocate war while He was on earth is only a partial reality. Yes, Jesus did not fight in any wars while He walked on earth, but what of His return? Will there be violence? Yes, I dare say like none ever seen, according to His word.

Only giving half of the answer isn't being 100% honest.

Regardless, our time until His return is to be for the spreading of the Word, that much is true.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
