Will I ever be pleasing to the Lord?

Dear Christian Friends,

I don't think that I will ever be pleasing to God. It seems the harder that I try to please Him the more I see where I don't.

This makes me sad. I do love God and I see that Jesus died for me but I see where I lack. It seems when I work on one area of my life another fault stares me in the face. I guess I want to be perfect.

I seem so unworthy to go to Heaven. I am not in any gross sin. It's just that I think I drink too much pop and things like that.

Oh well I'm so discouraged. I really love God. Does anyone out there have any answers to this dilema?

Sincerely, Anne

I don't have any answers but the Bible does! Get into it! Read it every day, even if it's just a little bit a day...The more you learn about God, the more you'll see how much He loves You! We will never be good enough for God. We'll never deserve His love. Thank God, it's not based on that. Over a lifetime, God makes us like Jesus, and you know what happens when we have nothing else to work on? We die! We're all unworthy of Heaven! The only way to get there and the only thing we have to do is accept what Jesus has already done. ;)

Ask yourself first who is most pleasing to God and why.

Eventually your answer should be "Only Christ is pleasing to God, because Christ satisfied God's heart's desire to accomplish redemption for mankind, and to bridge the gap between man and Himself."

Then ask yourself how you can please God.

Eventually your answer should be "nothing of myself."

Finally, arrive at the conclusion, "Only by living and expressing Christ can I please God."

"For to me, to live is Christ..."

:24:

I sure do know how you feel.. :24:

It is something I think about a lot too..

Paul would agree too...

His love is amazing.... :24:

1Jo 4:4 You are of God, little children, and you have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

1Jo 4:5 They are of the world, therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.

Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then with the mind I myself serve the Law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Rom 8:2 But the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh;

Rom 8:4 so that the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

I fail and fail but His love covers all as I repent and ask forgiveness...

We keep struggling to walk in Holiness before Him ..

and every time we win a battle with the flesh nature we realize more and more that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.. ;)

Kep walking ....

Eph 3:11 according to the eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord;

Eph 3:12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through His faith.

Eph 3:13 For this reason I desire that you faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

Eph 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Eph 3:15 of whom the whole family in Heaven and earth is named,

Eph 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man;

Eph 3:17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

Eph 3:18 may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height,

Eph 3:19 and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.

dear anne,

We can never be good enough. It has nothing to do with what we do, to gain favor. It is what Christ did on the cross that makes you righteous before God. When we are first saved-our spirits are rebirthed but our minds have not changed- the Word of God will change the way that you think about yourself. What does God say you are in the bible-that is what counts. Remember that if you say you were not good enough for salvation; are you saying what he did on the cross for you wasn't good enough? If you were the only person, he would have laid down his life for you. He is a good shepherd and he will never lead you wrong. Just allow the word of God to transform your mind; for the mind of Christ.

Do you know who you are in Christ. If you go on this website you can find a list of scriptures that tell you who you are: www.ficm.org . Or you can do a word study on "IN CHRIST" "IN HIM" "IN WHOM" "THROUGH CHRIST", etc. You really need to meditate on who you are in Christ. He has a better image of who you than what you have. You must know your worth!!! When you know who you are in Christ; it doesn't matter the situation or how you feel on the outside because you will know the truth and that truth will set you free.

Blessings & Love,

candi :)

Anne,

I forgot something. Pray about everything. Ask the Lord to help you with those difficult things you can't do alone. Watch how he works. Give him the Glory>

If Jesus Christ didn't think A GREAT DEAL OF YOU, He never would have died on the cross for you!

None of us is really worthy of going to heaven, but when Jesus died for Us He broke the gap between ManKind and God, He's sacrifice made us so that even though we aren't worthy to be with God, we can be with Him because of Jesus Love :) .

You please God just by having you as His son.

You please him in many other ways you might not think of, when you are actually pleasing God :emot-highfive: .

When you confsed Jesus name as your Savior, you pleased Him so much, when you woke up this morning, you please God , He saw your face awake and He loves us so much that just by seing us He is happy to have us as His sons  .

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
