I took a look at Benny Hinn's Faith Statement on his website. There is absolutely nothing there that is wrong. All is scriptural and right.

It is unfair to call Hinn a false prophet. That conclusion is a dangerous accusation.

IF he's made prophesies that have not come to pass, then that would be pretty easy to prove and it wouldn't be a dangerous accusation

the term false prophet is also often used to describe someone who teaches false doctrine and I believe he does.

Some people do not have a level of discernment for these types of situations. They cannot see anything bad w/ someone who claims to be a preacher. This does not make them a bad person. This makes them more easily led wether its a good or bad path. This is why its very dangerous to speak in the name of God in order to deceive & rob people of their innocence. The wolf in sheeps' clothing. Ask him to give everything away (all possesions) & lay down his life.

He will deserve praise If & when he does this until then he has no crediblility.

Why is that unfair? He has made several false prophecies. If we lived under the OT laws he would rightly be stoned to death.

I don't know if it's too Christian to heap humiliation on anyone. :emot-lwt:

In this case, I'd say it is. Better we make fun of them lest unbelievers think the greed, excess and bad doctrine of TBN is what Christianity is all about.

sw

I thought we were to speak th truth in love. :emot-LOL:

At least I am speaking the truth. And I am more concerned about the victims of TBN than the false ministers on there who plunder them.

sw

I guess some is better than none, huh? :24:

Jesus and his Apostles (especially Peter and Paul) used some very rough language to describe the false teachers of their time. If you want to be the Nice Police that's fine, but there is ample scriptural precedent for dealing harshly with wolves in sheep's clothing.

sw

The question is who gave you divine authority to be the "judge?" Jesus and the Apostles were always correct in their identification of false prophets. Where does your inerancy in judgment come from? Let us look at Hinn. Jesus said a house divided against itsself will not stand. You claim Hinn is a fale prophet. Why would a false prophet preach the true message of salvation to the world? Why would a false prophet spends millions of dollars to spread the gospel, the message of salvation to Africa? Africa & India crusades are huge financial liabilites to Hinn. If he were in it for the money, he would not be doing the world wide crusades. They are a huge financial drain on the ministry. He is drawing crowds and recording professions of faith only second to Reinhardt Bonkee at the present moment. Satan is doing a real smart thing if he is sending Hinn to preach the true gospel and lead millions to salvation. The real problem is most christians can not see past the tip of their nose.

So many christians have the attitude a preacher in one of Rev. Kenneth Haggins stories had. Haggin said he was discussing a move of God with another minister. Haggin said the minister said "that is not of the Lord." Haggin said I asked "how do you know?" The minister said "because if it were of the Lord, He would have started it in my church." It is unfortunate, but many Christians can not stand to see success in another denomination. If it is not happening in their little group, they wish it failure. They can not stand to see someone outside their group show greater success than they are having.

I wish Christians would spend as much energy fighting Satan as they spend fighting each other.

Have you ever noticed that as a whole, highly successful ministers do not fight each other. Their opposition comes from significantly smaller ministers who can not stand the fact that their ministry is not as large as the "TV Preacher."

I don't think that Jesus would measure success by the amount of expensive cars or the size of their beachfront homes. I would think a successful Christian would be a servant to others driven by humility. Doesn't sound like Benny Hin to me. :emot-pinochio:

Hinn Measures success in Souls won to Jesus. Compared to local pastors, I am quite sure Hinn's salary is a much smaller percentage of ministry gross income than the local pastors salary is of Church income.

Souls won to Jesus?? Have you ever watched his nonsense? I have never heard him preach the Law and Gospel once. His entire show is just phony healing and waving his arms around blowing his assistants around the stage with the "wind of the Holy Spirit" that he claims flows from his arms. Anyone who believes this stuff should be institutionalized. Your statement excusing is greed and excess is amazing.

If a heretical teacher leads people to a false Jesus, are they really saved?

People need to think of the implications of doctrine peddled by people like Hinn before telling us all we're supposed to embrace them as brothers and sisters and not to "judge" them. They are devouring the flock, not leading them.

I'm sure Mr Hinn is very sincere, but he's sincerely WRONG, and he's leading people down the primrose path to Hell, does this not concern people?

We're on another witch hunt

Looking for evil

Wherever we can find it

Off on a tangent

Hope the Lord don't mind it

Another witch hunt

Taking a break from all our Gospel labor

On a crudade but we forgot our saber

Witch hunt

I don't see any reason tip-toeing around this. Benny Hinn is a heretic based solely off what he preaches (not even looking to the lifestyle of luxury that he gains off people's ignorance). Faith is placed in him and not in Jesus and he makes Christ out to be nothing more than a genie with unlimited wishes. This is heresy at its worst because it places man on equal footing or above God.

His philosophy is EXACTLY like all other philosophies in this world; at its root it is centered on Man. THe goal is not to seek God's Will, not to find a way to please God in your ailment, not to bring glory to God with your physical weakness. The goal of Hinn is to use God to make yourself better....this is outright heresy.

It's not a witch hunt, it's not tossing any baby out, it's calling it for what it is.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
