Actually we are instructed by Paul to 'resist' sin, but in the particular instance of 'youthful lust' Paul instructs us to 'flee!' Change location and change activity. That's what to do in the short term.

In the Long term learn that you don't have to DO anything with such feelings. You neither have to act on them, NOR suppress them. It is much better for you just to acknowledge "Oh, I had a genital urge; so what?" And go on with something more productive in your life.

I think all men get such feelings, especially when we're teens (like me). I get feelings like that all the time. It's natural, if we see a pretty girl, we WILL feel lust, thats just how it works. Just make sure you don't act on this lust (better yet, keep yourself out of situations where you CAN act on it). Like most of the time when I have feelings like that, not acting on them is easy, because if I did, the girl would most likely leave a purple handprint on my face for weeks. (And she would have every right to do so  )

Lust is a sin. The thoughts generated by lust are the same as performing the act itself, in God's view. Perhaps, Keilan, what you are describing is "attraction". No sin in attraction. But when your mind takes t6hat attraction and develops it into a lusty thought, one needs to repent quickly.

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Never mind your feelings! Know the truth and move in it. God's promises are all true.

Maybe, everytime you have that thought, you slam your head against the wall. it would help, maybe. (Just Joking)

Make up your mind you don't want to do it. Ask Forgiveness, cut out those things that cause the temptation and ask the Holy Spirit to help you along the way.

blessings

Maybe I didn't quite explain that right. I do mean attraction. I guess as far as keeping lust out of your thoughts, that's up to you and your own willpower (with God's help of course). Not acting on the attraction is relatively easy, but keeping sexual thoughts out is a bit harder.

I am of the belief that if it is an obsessive and controlling issuse in your life you may want to consider praying for God to show you how this took hold of you. I dont believe in blaming demons for everything but sometimes ther are strongholds that take root because we opened the door to them or our families have issues for generations that may affect us. granted the world at large is no help-nor is the way people dress to attract attention. Check out some books by Derek Prince- I know this is controversial but God will show you how to get free. I was skeptical about demonic strongholds untill I was so desparate I started to read and apply the blood of Jesus- speak against it and believe. God will guide you in truth and peace- bless You

A friend of mine had an issue with porn it had controlled him for years he wanted to change his habbits so badly but wasn't doing anything dramatic to change them. HE just kind of wished everything would go away. He prayed and got prayer he went to church but like someone else said in another reply. 'God will always give you an escape'. His esacpe was selling his computer not an easy thing to do! sure he couldnt chat online or email his friends or play games but his walk with God and his self worth improved because of it. What we mite see as a big loss is a great gain in Gods eyes and yours! and sometimes you have to make big changes to over come your weaknes's. Really big changes.

You'll find the more you focus on God..reading his word..spending time by yourself admiring his creation..fellowshiping with other christians..attending church. I'm sure you will find that your struggle with lust will fade into the very depths of the ocean and forgiveness strength and love will prevail. I'll be praying for you!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
