Do you have certain place that you sleep, a certain seat for watching TV? Do you have a special cup for hot liquids and glass for cold things?

This came up at work and there is a rolling debate going on, that has now gone to, is there a certain way you have to get dressed in the morning? Right sock then left sock, right leg or left leg into pants?

Its pretty much 7 to 1 here at work with a yes to all of the above. The one who has they have no special sleeping spot or seat or cup says the rest of us are weird. How about ya'll???

We are creatures of habit. Habits are comforting, mostly. Yes, I have all those things! Left foot socked first, and right leg in pants first!

Well, I am one of those that does not do things in a certain order. Nor do I have a special cup, seat or anything like that. I do sleep on a certain side of the bed only because my husband is on the other side. But, it doesnt bother me to sleep anywhere I happen to land. I always thought maybe it is because I was a bit fickle....

Becky, don't you know better than to start such heated debates?!?! :P

Me, I sleep all over my bed (sometimes winding up on the floor). I drink out of Krispy Kreme and Starbucks cups because that's what they give me in the drive-through. I put on socks when I'm not wearing flip flops (matching if I'm lucky), and wear whatever pants smell clean. If they don't smell clean but show no visible signs of my previous meals, I spray them with Downy wrinkle releaser and rush out the door so I can make it to Starbucks in time to get my new cup.

There is a chair in my house that everyone fights over. I claimed it when we moved in, I was raised in a culture where one way to honour the parents was to respect "their" chairs and places at the table and I raised my kids the same way. Turns out all my friends also like this chair (and of course I was raised to observe hospitality and not say "get outta my chair") and even though springs are now sprung people still want to sit in it. I have since claimed my corner of the couch and left the chair to fend for itself.

I sleep on the couch but funny, when I do pull the roll out out, the logical place to sleep would be the left side as it's closer to the bathroom and the "gotta go right now" commercials are all me and a bag of chips. But I sleep on the right side. I have two special cups for hot things, cold things...not really, though I did when I lived with my dad.

I don't have a set way of dressing I don't think (but how much work is it to put on a slip and then a dress? Honestly can it be done in a different order? Well if I wear a bra and half slip I guess that could be done in a different order but I'd look pretty stupid putting the bra on the outside...), I usually do my left foot first for hosiery and shoes, but it's just cause I keep the stuff on the left side of the living room. When I step into flip flops it's pretty much whichever shoe is closer.

It's not wierd, as long as we don't get all disccombobulated when things don't or can't be done the way we usually do them.

Hmmmm...

I am a creature of habit when it comes to my favorite beverage, coffee, in my favorite mug, a Starbucks travel mug. I never wear socks, rarely wear shoes, and sleep wherever my head lands; on the couch, my lazy boy, my deck lounger and once in a while, in bed. When I am at home, which is 90% of the time, I wear a long t shirt or whatever is clean (or looks clean). I do have a favorite t-shirt, though, a black Batman t-shirt I bought when the FIRST Batman movie came out! It's getting a little thin, though, so I dont wear it in public. Man, I sound like a total looser.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
