i've never doubted george's christianity. but i do have doubts about his faith at times, because faith is trusting God. when he makes comments such as this, i can't help but think he's showing a little LACK of faith in his re-election... but he's human, folks, he's not perfect. sometimes we forget who's directing the orchestra.

on the other hand, we also have to keep in mind that there are many 'great' religions in terms of philosophy. we, as Christians, know that religion isn't where it's at. religion itself is worthless. a personal relationship with Christ is the key. so it doesn't matter how great a religion is, if it ain't got Jesus, it ain't gonna save your soul.

I have to agree with everyone here. It felt heavy listening to him. But it made me think of how many times, usually daily that I have to repent of something stupid that comes out of my mouth. I couldn't imagine being in the spot light like that being put in the position to try and hold together these rocky relationships. The funny thing is that the Islamist are much more honest than that when it comes to terms of defining the relationship they have with the West. It's kind of weird that everyone here is so desparately trying to be so polically correct and almost pretending like all those hateful words are not being slung. They have made it quite plain that they are not interested in peace which is what I guess we are trying to accomplish. So what is up with all the meetings and political wrangling and talking about it. It all seems quite silly at times. I mean seriously you watch all the hate rally's against America with attendance in the hundreds of thousands and think well if my president just comes up with the right words to say then all those people will stop hating us. That is nonsense.

I believe this was a statement of how he admired some of the values of the religon. For example, I admire buddhist values, but I don't neccassarily follow them, I have a different religon.

I think if the president is a Christian he needs some time to go back to the morals and values of the Bible. I figure he has gone slack because of the national view of God. He wants votes. Shame for someone to put their career before Christ.

Well, I think I understand what our friend, Teh Wiccan, is driving at, but I'm going to be honest and say that I'm not 100% confident of "Dubyah." He's certainly better than what Al Bore, uh Treehugger, uh Al Gore would've been though. I remember an article in a Christian periodical, may've been National Liberty Journal that said how he was courting the gay vote and spoke to the Log Cabin Republicans, an openly gay group. I felt that was inappropriate for a Bible believing Christian. Where has he been on the Ten Commandements and Pledge of Allegience foul-ups? I'm not God and certainly not the man's judge and whatever he is or isn't is between God and he, but personally, I'll vote Constitution Party next year again-unless Charlton Heston should happen to run; he's my president!

i was under the distinct impression that the gay rights lobbiests were very anti-Bush because of his outspoken position on the definition of marriage (between a man and woman.)

as for where he was during the ten commandments and pledge of allegience issues, he was right where he was supposed to be. he is the president of our country, he's not on the supreme court nor in the congress. those are matters that are not within his control. should we fault him for not getting in the middle of the media frenzy over those things? it would have accomplished nothing but to incite more political division while distracting from the matters which he DOES have control over. i don't believe that is what God would have wanted him to do.

If the man is truly a Christian, how can he stand idly by and watch the remaining vestiges of Christianity removed from this nation and not even put up a fuss? Again, it's playing politics. Too afraid he'll alienate someone by standing up for what is right. I sum it up in the words of Aaron Tippin, a C/W singer:
