The crucifixion of Christ has gotten so sanitized and glossed over that I thought it might be enlightening to those who doubt Christ's suffering to read this. The following is only the preliminary action wielded upon those condemned to crucifixion.

Alexander Metherell, who holds a medical degree from the University of Miami and a doctorate in engineering from the University of Bristol in England, made a detailed examination of Christ

He endured all this and could have easily called host(S) of Angels to get him out of it, but all for Love. God wanted a way for people to be restored to Him. How wonderful He is.

He was no wimp.

Hi Christian :)

Would you mind clarifying what you mean by 'sanitized' and 'glossed over'...do you mean that it is becoming traditional, religious, or commercial :emot-wave:

My dearest Bolts, my statement was intended to reflect how many have lost sight of exactly where the "blood" came from that we are so quick to claim. His crucifixion has become portrayed as some 1-2-3, poof, it was done, quickly and cleanly kind of thing by many.

This was just a reminder that it was not !!!

Grace and peace to you my sister in Christ,

His servant,

-C-

Amen! We'd be better off as a body if we were in constant reminder of where we were -- before we were saved -- and reappreciating the sacrifice provided for us 2000 years ago!

Guest willing servant

Is a great quote. Ive read the metherall quote and done some investigation myself. When I read this quote I prayed to Jesus that I cant believe we were so stupid and I wished that he were alive today.

He gave me a nice gentle reminder that he was.

He also endured beatings from th Temple gaurds before He even faced teh Roman soldiers. Plus, with the damage from done from the flogging, it would have been virtually impossible for a human being to even walk, much less carry a cross. Then there is the fact that it was quite concievable that a normal human being would have bled to death before he even reached Calvary.

It is a sobering thing to realize what the LORD Jesus Christ has done for us, just because He loves us. Praise God that He had a plan.
