His crucifixion has become portrayed as some 1-2-3, poof, it was done, quickly and cleanly kind of thing by many. This was just a reminder that it was not !!! When I read this quote I prayed to Jesus that I cant believe we were so stupid and I wished that he were alive today. He gave me a nice gentle reminder that he was. Plus, with the damage from done from the flogging, it would have been virtually impossible for a human being to even walk, much less carry a cross. Then there is the fact that it was quite concievable that a normal human being would have bled to death before he even reached Calvary.
