I heard in the Larry King Live show Joel Osteen told Larry that he wasn't sure whether anyone would be saved except through Lord Jesus Christ. All the true disciples of Jesus Christ firmly believed that there is no salvation except through the Lord Jesus Christ .All the disciples who walked with the Lord heard and taught so. Peter preached "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts;4:12 John wrote;Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him." John;3:36 And Jesus Christ himself has said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John;14;6 How can God accept anyone who rejects His Son whom he sent into the world?-Whom He sent as the Savior of the world. No one can save except the one who was sent to save. That is Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God,

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts;4:12

Yes, Joel Osteen is a Christian. But who is Joel Austin how can one be sure that all will be saved. To be sure that people are saved are those through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Joel statement is true not everyone will be saved except those through the Lord Jesus Christ.

perhaps for your own understanding of Joel Osteen in his ministry you should visit his website and watch one or more of his programs.

He must have said " i am quite sure that no one can be saved except Jesus Christ."

I've seen Joel Osteen on TV and own one of his books. Yes, he preaches salvation through Jesus alone. Now, you may find a lot of people who think he preaches a soft message. Some people have even referred to it as "Cotton Candy Christianity."

At the end of each program, he invites the viewers to pray to Jesus for salvation. My concern is that his introduction of the concept and process of salvation is awful short, at least on TV. I don't know what he does at his Church.

The other thing that makes me feel weird about his program is the major emphasis on "JOEL", his logo is everywhere, constantly in your face. A ministry needs to have a major emphasis on Jesus. But I may be a little too critical here, I don't know.

Bhakthi, this thread got closed on one board that YOU posted it on. I think you just post things to either cause thought or controversy.

I am not going to approach whether or not he is christian because only God can tell for sure. I will say, however, that if you only preach "feel good" messages then you are not telling the whole of it. You have to tell the bad as well as the Good. Never did you see Jesus just preach happy-happy messages. He taught the Good the Bad and the Ugly of a walk for him. To leave out the bad to not preach the "Whole" truth.

Here's a transcript of the interview Joel Osteen had with Larry King. I don't know if this is the show you are talking about, but he made some very wishy washy remarks concerning salvation through Jesus Christ.

http://apostasywatch.com/

Last night, (6-20-05) Joel and Victoria Osteen were interviewed on CNN by Larry King. Osteen showed clearly why he has the largest church in America. He told everyone, including King, what they wanted to hear. He refused to say that Jesus was the only way to heaven.

KING: Because we've had ministers on who said, your record don't count. You either believe in Christ or you don't. If you believe in Christ, you are, you are going to heaven. And if you don't no matter what you've done in your life, you ain't.

OSTEEN: Yeah, I don't know. There's probably a balance between. I believe you have to know Christ. But I think that if you know Christ, if you're a believer in God, you're going to have some good works. I think it's a cop-out to say I'm a Christian but I don't ever do anything ...

KING: What if you're Jewish or Muslim, you don't accept Christ at all?

OSTEEN: You know, I'm very careful about saying who would and wouldn't go to heaven. I don't know ...

KING: If you believe you have to believe in Christ? They're wrong, aren't they?

OSTEEN: Well, I don't know if I believe they're wrong. I believe here's what the Bible teaches and from the Christian faith this is what I believe. But I just think that only God with (sic) judge a person's heart. I spent a lot of time in India with my father. I don't know all about their religion. But I know they love God. And I don't know. I've seen their sincerity. So I don't know. I know for me, and what the Bible teaches, I want to have a relationship with Jesus

According to that transcript, Joel Osteen appears to possess the fear of man. Otherwise he wouldn't fudge on the truth so much. Jesus is the only way, and anyone who believes otherwise is sadly wrong. He needs to stand up for Christ and he failed that one badly, in my estimation. I certainly would be ashamed of my pastor if he responded in that fashion when he had such an opportunity handed to him to proclaim the truth. What a waste.

Sadly Joel is another modern day telepreacher who is struck by the lights of world acceptance. He, like others before him will make a fatal error and he will join the others who sold out to the God of this world.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
