A ballot initiative in Missouri written to enshrine in the state constitution the right to clone human embryos for "research" was approved by voters by a single percentage point, and pro-life organizations have said they expect a court challenge to the plan.

If evangelicals oppose the destruction of tiny, microscopic, embryos then they should stop condoning invitro-fertilization. Unfortunately this is just more hypocrisy because when God blesses evangelicals with a barren womb they head to the fertility doctor just like everybody else. They'll relegate 20 embryos to the "medical waste" pile in an effort to get one baby. It's no wonder they're losing any influence over those Christians who have children that may eventually benefit from this research.

Research takes time and money, Rome wasn't built in a day, we've only been able to fly for 100 years. Lots of things that were once considered to be impossible have come to pass. Embryonic stem-cell research, adult and cord stem-cell research are areas in which we may see the impossible come to pass once again.....cures. I'm sure pharmaseudical companies do not want to see this happen because they're in the business of treatment not cures; treatment is how they make their money. Just as car companies attempt to squash any car that doesn't require them I have the utmost confidence that pharmaseudical companies will do everything within their power to prevent cures (even if they're found) from finding their way to the public market. But it'll happen because unlike a car, people die.... so the general public would exact an enormous punishment if cures were known but not made available to the public.

Therapudic cloning is not reproductive cloning. With therapeudic cloning a person's own genetics could be matched so that you wouldn't have to pray that somebody die (like in a car wreck) so you or a loved one can get their organs, then take anti-rejection drugs day after day for years to survive. With therpeudic cloning you could get your own organ matched to your own body; it is not growing a whole person then harvesting them.

If you oppose embryonic stem-cell research then you should oppose invitro-fertilization and tell people why when they're contemplating invitro fertilization (see how fast you tick them off); you should encourage your pastor to preach against invitro-fertilization (see how fast the collection plate dries up) and don't get it yourself if you find yourself wanting a baby but unable to reproduce without the help of a medical doctor using a scientific procedure (see how quick you change your tune then). And last but not least, if cures are found against your objections, don't get them for yourself or a loved one then, pray that God call you home for your reward instead (in other words, don't be a hypocrit).

HELLO,

Does Missouri have sleeping Christians??? Shame on you who didn't get out and vote!!!

How aweful

there better be an appeal to this!!

I've always wondered, if man tried to do this, God would be under not obligation to give the poor thing a spirit-what would be in the poor little thing.

No worries...I won't ....

It is amazing how we want cures for all the diseases caused by our sinful behaviours..

and we will go to all lengths, even to the destruction of our own offspring, to heal us from it rather than to repent and ask God for our healing....

I think the Christians of the state did get out and vote, in large numbers. God gives people common sense and they used it in the voting booth.

Your last sentence doesn't make any sense to me. What were you trying to say there?

My child has a fatal disease; he's done NOTHING sinful to bring it on himself. I've got friends who've watched an 11 yr old, and two 4 yr olds die from lukemia. You think those poor babies deserved to get that?

You know what, even adults who may have brought disease on themselves deserve a break if it's available. Nobody leads a perfect life (cept for maybe you tah); everybody makes mistakes and sometimes those mistakes harm ones body. If a cure is found those people should be able to get them too along with everybody else. There's nothing wrong with helping people when you can do it.

People need to put a little more thought into what they say sometimes.

This sickens me. How disgusting. And yes I agree invito fertilization is just as disgusting. My wife and I tried for 8 years to have a child. We went to a fertility Dr. Who happened to be a wonderful Christian Catholic. Invito fertilization was never a consideration. Missouri always surprises me, but unfortunately Kansas is getting just as bad.

God protect us,

Kansas Dad

I disagree with you Kansas Dad but at least you're not a hypocrit. It's the ones who get invitro then preach against using the left-overs that really infuriate me.

I am sorry you are experiening such sorrows...

but killing another child is not an excuse to save one..

If I have a choice to save a child at the sacrifice of another I would not choose to kill one...

God will decide who lives and who dies in my life......

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
