The Bible talks about there being GIANTS, who came from the land of NOD, where Cain had gone to live after being kicked out of the Garden

This is a sensitive issue and I know some adjudicators may question my interest, but I would like someone to show me, through Scripture, where they came from

I have heard it suggested they were descendants of Seth, through daughters of men, also that they were the missing link betwixt man and beast, but have so far found no Scriptural evidence to support these

Anyone got any ideas

Also, what verse about "giants were you referring to? There are a few, and I believe some of the different references speak about different giants.

It would appear that the giants are of one heriditary line, wherever they are spoken of

They are described in Gen.6:4,

Where did they come from?

Num.13:33; Deut.2:20, 3:13; Josh.12:4, 13:12, 15:8, 17:15, 18:16 appear to be describing an ongoing lineage of giants, as we see reference to "sons of the giant" 1 Chr.20:4, 6, 8

There have been a number of explanations provided, yet none have been able of showing, from the Bible, not theory, where they originated, who was the original GIANT and who produced him

As far as the missing link goes, firstly, I do believe the Bible, which is why I want a Biblical answer, not a doctrine or theory, and, if we consider the GODLY evolution, as HE, GOD, over the period of creation, gradually evolved, created higher and higher species, 'til HE created man, in HIS own image, we see a logical progression of ever more complex species

What was the last beast GOD made before man?

On the fifth day HE created Gen.1:20-24 great sea monsters, moving creatures, winged fowl and there HE stopped, the next day HE had the earth bring forth the living creaure after its kind, cattle, and creeping thing and beast of the earth after its kind

The next step was man, but what was the last beast directly before man?

Maybe that is the 'missing link' in GOD'S creative evolution

I am not in anyway supporting Darwin's flawed theory, but surely GOD works in logical progressive steps which His children can comprehend

Could they have been GIANTS? I have no idea, but find it an interesting topic

I wrestled with this topic for years untill I found a Series by Chuck Missler entitled "Return of the Nephilim" you can download this series as a MP3 at the following link.

It costs about $7 but believe me it is absolutely fantastic and well worth the price. The series more than answered all my questions on this particular subject and I found it really fascinating and totally scriptural. Let me also recommend his "Cosmic Codes" series too, which really blows you away.

There is also a speculation that Goliath and his brothers suffered from a condition called "giantism" or "gigantism."

Rest assured, I would not waste my time trying to expound any doctrine that is NOT in the Bible, why are you so paranoid? I find it somewhat offensive to be accused of pushing anyone's doctrines and it seems that is what is happening

Where ever Giants came from, the Giants after the flood could not have been of the same line as the giants before the flood, because no giants were on the ark, and everything that wasn't on the ark died, except plants and ocean life.

So Goliath could not be a decendant of the giants that existed before the flood.

On the other hand, the existence of goliath and other giants, such as the Anakims and nephilims, could only be explained in two ways that I am even remotely aware of. One is in agreement with the Book of Enoch, which though it may not be considered inspired, it is actually quoted at least one time by an Apostle, which may or may not give weight to it:

Either

1) Giants/Nephilim are the result of fallen angels somehow co-habitating with women, or else some form of demon possession.

2) Giants "evolved" from human beings on two seperate occasions: once before the flood, and once after it.

The problem with this theory is manifold. IF it is "merely" evolution, and all the giants from before the flood died, why did "giant gene" suddenly re-emerge after the flood?

For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.

A cubit is generally, depeding on the time and place, considered to be 17 - 21 inches in length, so this bed is somewhere between

12' 9" to 15' 9"

And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.

A span is generally considerd 9 inches. So goliath was between:

9' 3" and 11' 3" tall.

The tallest man EVER in the past several hundred years is Robert Wadlo, and he was 8' 11", so depending on the exact version of the Cubit being used to measure him, Goliath could be over 2ft taller than the tallest man in modern times. The tallest person known to be alive right now is over a foot shorter than Robert Wadlo, so its not like its common for someone to get to the 8.5ft range at all. Maybe one person every few generations grows to that height range.

So it is highly unlikely an entire race of such beings simply "evolved" in a matter of just a few generations. It seems far more likely that they are somehow a corrupted race.

That all life beside those carried in the ark died during the flood is logical

What then is the next question is how did SIN, get carried over from before the flood to after?

Did Noah, (a righteous man) or his children carry sin over and how

There were no giants in the ark either, so how did thta line continue?

Though Noah was a righteous man he inhereted the fallen/sinful nature.
