Too many times in the past my pride has kept me from seeking help with certain matters. I always want to be strong with God, and I want others to see me as strong. But, right now I choose to swallow that pride and share the following with my Worthy family . . .

I have been pretty depressed and lonely lately. I am 49 years old, no money to speak of, still rent an apartment, never been married, no children and can have no children. All my brothers and sisters are married, with their own houses, their own children and some of them even have grandkids already.

Over the years I tried so many things to find the right guy

I can relate with you. I am 30, single, never married, no children and always a victim of peer pressures.

Nevertheless, I am holding on to the LORD on what is to come.

I know that in whatever and wherever circumstances He may have placed us, the LORD still knows what's good and better for us even if things are not clear to us in the present. The LORD knows what we desire and what we need, and certainly, the LORD knows what He is doing.

We can ask Him to help us seek our contentment in Him and in His love.

The LORD knows what we NEED, and He will give it in His time.

We only have to be focused on our relationship with Him and be open to Him on what we feel. He understands.

We can forget our miseries when we are busy serving/pleasing Him.

Still believe and have faith.

Thank you Giaour. I really appreciate your sweetness. :whistling:

I appreciate and respect ALL the input offered here. :emot-hug:

I just get so tired of having to do everything BY MYSELF.

My friends all have spouses and kids. My siblings have their spouses, kids and grandkids.

Scheduling time is difficult, and I am the one who always has to re-arrange what I want to do to fit in with everyone else's schedule. :(

Sorry! I know that sounds selfish. I don't mean to be, but when is it ever MY turn? :)

I do understand priority, but much of the time it seems I am no one's priority.

Of course I am a priority to Jesus, but like this little girl said once, "I want a Jesus with some skin on." :24:

I do have single friends, but most of them are single parents with children priorities. :24:

Sometimes I think if I had more money I could do more exciting things, but then I'd still have to do them ALONE. :24:

Sorry for the rant this morning, but it seems I've fallen in a funk and I can't get up. :24:

Dear heart, it could be a lot worse...you could be like a few of us who are going through a painful divorce...be grateful God hasn't given you that special one yet, because if you rushed Him, you could be just like me right now. Hurting, alone, serving God alone despite being married.

God has a plan for you and I, my friend...just be patient and wait for the plan to manifest. It will...perhaps in 2007 the right person might just appear in front of you. Just make sure it's of God first. Do not let ANYTHING (person or thing) interfere with your walk with God.

We love you and we know that God has an amazing plan for your life. Just wait for Him. Don't run ahead of Him.

God bless you

Psalm 42 (New King James Version)

To the Chief Musician. A Contemplation of the sons of Korah.

1 As the deer pants for the water brooks,

So pants my soul for You, O God.

2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.

When shall I come and appear before God?

3 My tears have been my food day and night,

While they continually say to me,

“Where is your God?”

4 When I remember these things,

I pour out my soul within me.

For I used to go with the multitude;

I went with them to the house of God,

With the voice of joy and praise,

With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.

5 Why are you cast down, O my soul?

And why are you disquieted within me?

Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him

For the help of His countenance.

6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me;

Therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan,

And from the heights of Hermon,

From the Hill Mizar.

7 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;

All Your waves and billows have gone over me.

8 The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,

And in the night His song shall be with me—

A prayer to the God of my life.

9 I will say to God my Rock,

“Why have You forgotten me?

Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”

10 As with a breaking of my bones,

My enemies reproach me,

While they say to me all day long,

“Where is your God?”

11 Why are you cast down, O my soul?

And why are you disquieted within me?

Hope in God;

For I shall yet praise Him,

The help of my countenance and my God.

God is very much aware of your hopes, and it is important that you keep your hopes alive by asking Him in prayer and looking for the answer from Him. I am also (as are others) praying for you in this.

PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP. The man God has sent to me and he is TRULY a blessing from God is on his way to Iraq. God has His own purpose and timing for our meeting. Perhaps in my case it is to ready myself for my soldier. To be the good wife that God would have me to be. There are many areas I could polish up while he is gone. So during his abscense I will be working on my relationship with God and on myself. DO NOT GIVE UP GOD HEARD YOUR CRY AND KNOWS YOUR HEART. He will provide the man for you if that is His plan for your life.

I can relate to this topic like crazy. 33 y/o single and getting a bit desperate. I am trying and I do mean TRYING TO WAIT ON THE LORD for the intended woman that HE has for me. This is one of the hardest things for me. I can wait to see a movie, instead of buying it illegally. And I love movies. It is depressing to see folks holding hands, kissing, and all that. I know there are rough times that ALL couple have. But I want to take the good with the bad. I walk into a situation and my mind wanders to all the women in my age range. And I can only think that "She must be here". Though I am getting better in some regards.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
