As most of you know my husband Steve had his bladder removed due to cancer. That word still sticks in my throat. His doctor at the Veterans Hospital that he was seeing never did anything about the rising PSA ( a cancer screening blood test) The normal is 0.0 to 4.0. He never did anything until Steve's PSA was 27 and by that time Steve was passing blood and had pain. We went to a specialist and found out it was cancer and he had to have his bladder removed. Now he has to have 4-6 months of chemotherapy. I have tossed this over and over in my mind whether to sue this idiot doctor that sat and did nothing while this cancer chewed away at his bladder. What would you do? I trust your opinions because your Christians. Thanks guys and thanks for the continued prayers and support. I love you all so much.

Rusty, I had no idea that a PSA test was for cancers other than prostate. My husband recently had that blood test, we are still awaiting the results.

Yes- sue them. The doctor did not act in a timely fashion therefore causing your husbands cancer to get worse- he is to blame.

Just be sure that your actions honour God first and foremost...and remember that money won't make your husband better (but it will make paying those expensive hospital bills a little easier to swallow).

No matter what you decide I will be praying for you.

Blessings

Sierra

Yes, they did a PSA on me when they thought I had Ovarian cancer. I was fine. The prostate also had cancer in it so we opted to have that removed too. If it's past 4 go to a specialist. Don't delay. Have it checked.

Wow thanks, I had no clue!

Rusty, I wish i could even begin to comprehend the pain and suffering that y'all are going through. Our family used to have the attitude of no lawsuit. However, in the case of real neglect, I find myself wondering if we do a disservice by not forcing doctors and hospitals to be accountable. I understand the issues of malpractice lawsuits running amuck but again there is responsibility to be thought of and the long term care of the patient and those caring for the patient.

I will be praying for y'all even more now.

I would say that it would be acceptable to sue for monetary reasons that have been or might be experienced. In other words for any loss, but not for revenge.

Although this does not answer your question it will give some food for though I'm quessng your an American. As there is a culture in America of if someone stuffs up sue them, where I come from there is no come back on the medical faternity so you just bit the bullet. We fight not agaisnt flesh and blood, that does not mean you can not sue, but do you want to get side tracked possibly by the enemy in fighting a worldly fight rather than praising god for his provission. And will fighting a law suit be of any benift above finacal, where in your life does your faith begin and that is where I would look for your answer. love and blessings.

although I agree that to sue for a desire for revenge will only hurt you if it is needed to pay the bills or even as a wake up call for this docotr/hospital then I would say go ahead ...what you do with any compensation that you may recieve over and above your needs is what you need to pray about if and when the time comes.

my daughter almost died due to lack of care and downright neglect on the part of a doctor when she had her first child, she refused to take it any further as she didnt want to cause a fuss and make life difficult for the doctor .....another woman has sued the same doctor for the same thing unfortunatly her child died as a result of the neglect ...now we will always wonder ....if my daughter had sued would that child have lived ? the hospital has now taken steps to ensure the situation cannot arise again but for the mother and child it is too little too late :emot-hug:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
