Sorry but even people who have no children have to pay school taxes.

Just FYI, our tax money is also being used for abortions.

Don't even go there Giaour...we really don't need to have yet another thread started on that topic.

I'm still on topic.

Paying taxes for something you morally disagree with.

In Germany the government recently installed a law that outlaws home schooling. All kids have ot go to government schools. They will learn only what the government wants them to learn.

All kids of Christian parents should not send their kids to government schools.

PS, Im new here

I recently received an e-mail from a missionary in the Netherlands and apparently that nationa also has outlawed home schooling. About the comments that you HAVE to pay taxes... I guess it really could boil down to how much are you willing to give up to prevent the state from indoctrinationg your children with anti-christian bias. Please understand I consider myself a loyal US citizen - no flag burning - etc. I'm just concerned about what I am seeing and hearing.

The information below came from this website...

Update on Homeschooling in the Netherlands

Homeschooling was recently targeted by the Ministry of Education, but a quick response by Dutch homeschoolers and homeschoolers around the world accomplished an important victory.

Home Education Threatened in the Netherlands

In order for a family to homeschool in the Netherlands, the family must get an exemption from school registration for deeply held religious or philosophical reasons. This exemption is very difficult to achieve and is not available once a child begins attending public school.

Dutch Homeschoolers Fight Compulsory Attendance Law

It has always been somewhat difficult to homeschool in the Netherlands, but public opinion and political moods may now be changing.

As I have observed the changes taking place in "public" "Government Controlled" education I am beginning to wonder.....

In a society where there is so much talk about separation of Church and State (1st Amendment - interpretation - separation of church and state is not mentioned here!) should I be "forced" by the law to support the public education of children, mine as well as others, which teaches values, principles and morals directly contrary to my Christian Faith?

What would happen if believers in Christ were to pay their "school" taxes to a Christian School and bring the tax receipt to the "town" and say, I have paid my school taxes but as a matter of my faith and religion I cannot support the public school for these reason ... stating documented teaching and use of textbooks which teach values, etc. contrary to my beliefs?

ANY THOUGHTS????? :emot-questioned:

Why A Christian Education?

Considering the high cost of education why should any parent consider paying twice in order for their child to get a Christian education? There are a number of Biblical reasons:

(1) Education should be God centered and Bible centered. (Ephesians. 6:4) "And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."

(2) Education should be positive and truthful. (Proverbs 22:6)

the Bible tells us that we are to respect, and honor those appointed as our leaders, we are to pray for them and follow their instructions..... so long as they do not contradict the Word of God......

Christ even told us, that we are to pay our taxes ( give unto ceaser what is ceasers.....) even gave instructions for the disciple where to find the coin in order that the group might have its tax paid......

David provided us with a prime example, he honored and respected Saul, even thou Saul had fallen from the Grace of God. David, already the appointed, annointed King of Israel, allowed Saul to continue in the possition as king because David would do nothing to harm him.

if the local law says we are to pay 15% in tax, and so much of this is for education, then we ought to pay it joyfully, for that would be honoring and respecting the local authorities.... if the state says they want 10% of your income on top of that, then that is what we need to be joyfully paying, this does not mean we have to agree with it, but we are to respect and honor those in authority over us.....

we are to respect and honor those in the family that have authority over us,

we are to respect and honorthose in the church that have authority over us,

we are to respect and honor those in the government that have authority over us....

this even means what we are saying about them......

the first commandment with a promise is......... HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER...... how do we speak about our mothers and fathers????? (this would also include grandparents as well, and greats and great greats.....)

if the law says, pay the tax, then we are obligated to pay the tax.......

if the law says we can petition to have the tax lowered or abolished, then go ahead and do it, but continue to pay the tax until the law is changed.....

this would also go with the speed limits and stop signs and passing laws and following too closely, these are laws that are on the books, as Christians, we should be setting the example, not expecting to be exempt from the law because we do not agree with it.....

the Civil Law is the Authority that is over us, we are to respect it and honor it.....

if we would stand up together, and petition the law makers, then the laws that are no good, can be changed for the better, this would also include tax laws, speed laws, education laws, so forth and so on......

dont just break them or try to find loop holes through them just because we do not agree with them....

we are currently operating Shiloh (a prayer house).... we have a tax number for tax exemption status as a not for profit organization....... so what..... we pay the tax on the property, and pay the tax on any income that comes in......

actually, Tax monies are not used for abortions.... abortions can not be funded by tax monies.... however, tax money can be used for other things, which would free up money to be used for abortion.

Well public schools do contradict God's word nowadays. They are very accepting of all other religions and sexual practices except Christianity.(Talk about a double standard!) So I think the original OP does have a point. YET, yet, yet, we have to keep in mind our children are not the entire next generation. There are many, many, many, children in public school who will also be a part of the next generation of adults. My future daughter-in-law could very well be attending public school right now. Therefore I think it is in everyone's best interests that schools do as well as they can. But, there is that nagging thought that public schools seem less and less blessed by God as they try even harder to remove all traces of Christianity and accept other religions instead. Anyone else think that too?

as things are going in this world,

I must therefore, do what the Bible tells me to do.....

I (not the village) must raiise up my child in the ways of the Lord.... then when he is of age, he will return......

I must teach my children, I must place Christ before them, I must ensure they have the proper root system that the Lord intended for them to have...... with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I must obey the Word of God, and not diviate from it.

being we can not trust the government to have our childrens best interest in mind when they are making and enforcing laws, we must take the bull by the horns and do what is right by our children......

we do not have to agree with anything the government or anyother authority says, but we are to respect it/them for the position they hold.... even those that are totally evil, God has His hand on them, and God will use them for the betterment of the Kingdom.... even if it is to kill those that are professed Christians, God will use it for His Glory......

we must run the race good, and finish it...... we are not to speak evil of our leaders, no matter how bad they are.... we are to pray for them and allow the Holy Spirit to do His job.....

This is off the subject but since we are not alowed to start new ones I thought this would fit in with government control. We are gradualy losing our freedoms here in the states also.

I thought planned parenthood was supported by our tax money.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
