oh, i woke up this morning and heard about the blogging debacle for the first time. they were saying that if anna nicole hadn't died, edwards would have been under the heat of the media for that. of course, i'm trying to figure out what media would have been all over him, since most of it is so slanted anyway.

I would be willing to make the prediction that if Obama were to get the nomination, he will be our next president and win by a pretty good electoral margin.

Agreed. Hillary is still not electable - too many Republicans would not vote for her, including Republican women. She has too much controversy surrounding her. Obama is relatively new, charismatic, and would win over the moderate vote and even some fence sitting Republicans.

I never really heard of him but I know his background is Muslim and how can that be good with the war in Iraq going on ??

Uh...what makes you think his background is Muslim? He is a Methodist, just like President Bush.

Lady C, I didn't grasp what you were trying to convey there either. You know, sometimes I think of something and then say it to someone else without the required background. That's when I also get a "HUH?" What about Edwards and Anna Nicole go together???

edwards and anna nicole? now i'm lost. LOL, i know there's a thread about her somewhere, but this one is about edwards!

leanord had mentioned the blogging debacle. i was posting a response to him that i had only just learned of the blogger controversy this morning. apparently john edwards had hired two people to write blogs for his campaign. both women were writing some pretty horrible things about catholics, about conservatives, and even making racial comments in the blogs. their language was crude and vulgar and full of profanity.

john edwards weighed what to do for a few days, and decided he'd rather anger the conservatives than to alienate the liberals, many of whom had publically stated they would not vote for him if he dared to fire the two women. so he made a public statement that he would not fire them because everyone deserves a "fair shake".... chalked it up to freedom of speach, and said they had never meant to offend anyone with their comments.

they're still on his payroll.

oh, just re-read my own post and now get the "huh" connection with anna nicole... sorry! apparently most people haven't heard much about the blogging incident because anna nicoles death has been dominating the news.

I do remember hearing about it, but didn't pay much attention, as I would never vote for him anyway. But I still don't see the connection between him and Anna Nicole.

Oh, I see now. Well, he should take a lot of heat.
