Aww Im in the sneezing/ coughing stage of this thing too. At least it sounds like you've missed out on the fever part of it.

I'd agree that one of the worst things about colds is all the noise it makes during preaching , so annoying when you can't stop it lol.

I am not a doctor, but I can share with you what my doctor suggested for me.

He recommended vitamin C in the form of a powder pack you can get over the counter . . . It is called EFFER-C.

Here's what it says on the Blue, Yellow and Green box . . .

Natural Lemon-Lime Effer-C

1000 mg of Vitamin C per packet

with additonal Antioxidants

Vitamins and Minerals

Fizzy Vitamin C Drink Mix

Energy & Immune System Support

You mix each packet in 4 to 6 ounces of cold water. It doesn't taste too terribly bad. As a matter of fact it tastes better in the least amount of water. I've been taking this twice a day for about a week now. It seems to help me. The packet says to drink slow and enjoy, but I find it tastes better and goes down better if I drink it fast.

There are two other things you can do with a flu or cold coming on. For the first one you would need to see a doctor and get a prescription for an anti-viral medication if it is the flu. The second one you can buy over the counter, and that is Zinc. Zinc is suppose to considerably lessen the effects of the flu or a cold, as well as shorten the duration. It must be ingested right when the flu or cold symptoms begin however to be of any real benefit. If you are a day or so into it, Zinc might help you considerably. We ingest Zinc in wafer form, about the size and shape of an alkaseltzer. You just suck on it until it is completely dissolved, and it tastes fairly good.

my throat is all snore and i have been sniffing and sneezing all morning. i think i might have the flu bug.

i was wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of it before it hits me full force.

i cant get sick, i have too many things to do especially for school.

I am somebody that tends to avoid medicines wherever possible and looks for fast acting natural cures, to tackle things head on. There is actually a really quick way to get over the symptoms you are having but you have to not mind a bit of chilli. Get yourself some of those packet two minute noodles. You can get them in the Asian section of your supermarket in hot Thai flavors. Make sure it is the hot version and not mild and it must be Thai. Cook these up and add yourself a bit of the hot thai sweet chilli sauce and start sweating. You will definately overheat on this one but it will knock the sickness out of you and you will have improved leaps and bounds by the next day. I know a lot of people who swear by this method. wow leoni! i cant even handle black pepper let alone an entire bowl of HOT noodles! i also dont like taking medication, i choose to get better naturally....even though thats not usually a good idea

i havent been on the boards since Sunday night because i actually got worse! after trying to blow my nose, i had severe nose bleeds for a few hours on and off. i dont remember ever losing so much blood in such a short amount of time in my life.

this meant i hardly had any sleep as i had to watch that i wasnt bleeding through the night, didnt really wanna choke on my own blood.

so monday morning i woke feeling weak and absolutely imobile. being sick sucks! i could hardly lift my head up and i didnt eat anything except a garden salad with lots of spinach to make up for the iron i had lost the previous day. it was horrible.

but anyhow, i am better now thank God. the wooziness and headache is still there but at least i can walk now and the fever is gone

thank you to all the people who were/are praying for me. i couldnt concentrate my mind on God properly while i was severely sick and i took consolation in the fact that there were people interceeding on my behalf.

Yeah, ask your pharmacist...I think I saw some while I was in Arizona last time (my mom got sick so I had to go look for some anti-nauseant for her), but I'm not 100%.
