Iv been thinking a lot latley of life, society et c. Wouldnt it be good with an all christian community, maybe in an island somewhere? This might sound cult like, but think about it.

Raising children in a god fearing place where they can grow up in a god fearing enviorment without tv, and without sin?

Couldnt this be something?

It sounds great to me, Arash. We are so global now, in everything, it's really hard to avoid other influences. My only worry about an all Christian society is that we might forget about trying to win over others for the kingdom. That would leave roughly 75% of mankind unsaved.

I don't think it sounds cult like, simply because Christianity is the one true religion. There is NO downside to following Jesus.

:emot-rolleyes:

Finally someone thinking right!

Leonard mentioned a nation that is based on christianity.

I agree with others posting here that there would be problems with this idea. Aside from the fact that we would be "hiding our lamp" as some have put it, we would bring sin with us. Everyone is sinful, and even the most devout Christians living together would eventually find ways to split themselves up and quarrel amongst themselves.

The sad but true fact of human nature.

Christiandom is already a divided house, unfortunately. There are many disagreements amongst us

Am i the only thrue christian?! I should study theology and become a preacher so i can get this thing going.

I think a true christian would not hide from the world, nor segregate himself from it either. Remember the commandment, go into all the world and teach and preach the Gospel

You can't do that on a island with only christians on it.

I disagree. A true Christian can be called to a life of solitude and prayer. Others might be called to be more active in the world and it's affairs. Both are valid paths for a "true"(all rights reserved) Christian.

I just don't think it would work, frankly. There are dozens of different factions of the Christian church, there would be just as much (if not moreso) seperation and disagreement between eachother on an island like this.

Besides, America is basically an inflated version of the island anyways... I mean we are about 75-80% christian here, or at least that many claim to be.

actually there are communities like that...I used to be in one...but the thing was...that particular one was so much like a cult...I couldn't talk to my family...even when I was seriously injured...my mom was going to come see me and she was told not to come...

I am sure that there are more out there like that that are really on fire for God and all...

BUT I have to ask myself...if you lived in a community like that...how would you spread the Gospel???? I personally like where I am...sure I don't like having to put up with the world...but hey, Jesus didn't isolate Himself and the disciples...why should we....just my opinions...

Do you realize that you have just alienated yourself from a huge number of members here? Including myself.

Just saying, "no offense" doesn't ensure that no offense will be taken. It's the same as saying, "I'm gonna hit ya, but it doesn't mean I want to." Then punching someone square in the nose. It's still gonna hurt.

Sometimes it amazes me how little people understand that their words effect other people!

I want to live in a country where college is paid for, dental is paid for by your tax moneys insted of being spent on weapons of mass destruction et c. I want to be able and talk freely about the president, saying no to a war, without being called unpatriotic. It just isnt me.

But i love america, i love the things from america, movies, music, mcdonalds... And there are things in America you cant do anywhere else cause of the high poppulation.

Shalom,

Actually, there are some communities that work, but very few. I know of one in Texas, but people come from all over the world to see why it works, because so many others fail. They fail because we Christians are not all of one mind and we don't agree even within Christianity. And, since we are all sinners, saved by grace, none of us is perfect. So, segregating ourselves does not insure there will be no sin, no fights, no bad influences, etc.

And, as everyone has mention, there is the issue of the reason we are here anyway. It is not to please ourselves, it is to live for Jesus and to share the good news that He is G-d to a dying world. We cannot do that if we wall ourselves off from the world we are supposed to witness to.

As for the Amish, we may think they lead idyllic lives because of their outward adherence to rules and such, but let me tell you, they have sin within their walls as well - incest, rape and their young people have drunken parties etc. People are people, and sin nature is alive within each of us, whether we live behind walls we build ourselves, or whether we live in a neighborhood.

The problem is not from the OUTSIDE, but from the INSIDE.

The answer is living for Jesus and being wholly sold out to Him, no matter where we live.

You don't want to live with Christians, you want someone exactly like you and it ain't gonna happen. You need to change yourself, not everyone else.

BTW, where do YOU live?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
