then why don't we affirm that God is a Jew also and not a Gentile? :21::24:

I have no problem with saying that

He was born jewish and was only temporarily dead so, yea, He is still jewish..

Christ, in regards to his human nature was male and Jewish, yes, but it's not like a Jewish male God was incarnated. :emot-highfive:

Messiah, in regards to his human nature "is" still male and jewish

If He is also God, then He is a jewish male God.

I see no problem with that.

His divinity never was male and Jewish and neither did it become so at the incarnation. :21:

"Divinity" is by definition a non-human aspect.

However, if He is both God and man then there should be no problem saying He is God who humbled Himself to become a jewish male....coming for a Bride.

Hence He is a jewish-male God in every sense of the words.

Upon His return, He will still be male and jewish...and God.

Is it too hard for you to accept that "HE" is male or that HE is jewish?

The only earthly title He accepted was King of the Jews. He was born that, and this was the charge against Him at His death.

Was it someone else who rose from the dead....or the Queen of the Jews?

Silly, Yod. I repeat as I already stated above:

Christ, in regards to his human nature was male and Jewish, yes, but it's not like a Jewish male God was incarnated.

He was King of Isreal at his resurrection.

I must say, I am shocked at the poll results so far that show how many believe God to have a gender and that God is male. :o

Absolutly !

This whole topic proves nothing about God.

It show so much about us though, doesn't it ? :whistling:

My personal belief is God has female characteristics but I identify Him as Male.

As a "human' male? No, but a Spiritual being that has both qualities of male/female and of course more aspects to His makeup which we will see for ourselves one day.

Who thunk this one up anyways? Hmm. Here we go boot-dropping again. The Creator-God is neither male nor female, nor any 'other type.' However when God does appear in Holy Writ, it's always without exception as a male. Angels, too, when they appear, are always identified as a "he," ie, being male. Which, of course, isn't all that earth-shattering in that every one of Jesus's chosen Apostles were indeed also male. HALP! Gender, gender, yes, but never second-stage gender-BENDER, puulleeze & thanx.

I voted for "gender neutral" because I believe that God is neither male nor female. God is spirit, not physical body. So of course God is not male or female, how can he be. In all speech and writing God is referred to as "he" simply for the sake of convenient speech, afterall it would be weird to refer to a living being as "it". "It" denotes an inanimate object.

In the english language we talk (or rather write) of "he" (did ...., is....., etc.) In French they also speak (or write) of God as the male gender (Le as apposed to La) but then their language assigns gender to many ininimate objects also. Their word for "student" is also said as male, but that doesn't mean that they have no female students. It is just the way the language is.

God doesn't have, or need, a physical body. He doesn't need to eat, sleep, work or procreate. Therefore there is no need of gender.

We see him as our "father". But that is to help us to understand something that as mere mortals we cannot understand. Hopefully we will when we finally die and dwell with God for real.

Jesus is always referred to as the "son of God". But that does not mean that God physically manifested as human and married Mary and literally fathered a son. The best explanation of how God could be both God and Jesus and also be omnipresent was the analogy of filling several glasses out of a common jug of water - one glass was Jesus and one was God etc.

I believe the angels are always depicted as male because that is what we, as mortals, expect to see. We just do not have the capacity to understand anything more complicated. So all these things are put in language that we can understand.

All will be revealed one day.

Hi there WSB, I've been following your line of reasoning and actually quite agree with most of it.

However what I wanted to say here was how amused I am at your using so much reasoning for showing God need no reasons.

It reminds me of my thinking process which used to drive me nuts!

Doesn't it make you "blow a fuse" sometimes?

God dealt with it, as one day He asked me: "Why don't you live your life rather than explain it"

He sure hit the nail on the head, for me!!

May God bless you, for no reason :emot-hug:

"Why don't you live your life rather than explain it"

Thats an awesome quote. :emot-hug:

Nope. My vote stays the same.

God is Spirit, and Spirit is neither male or female, therefore God is neither male or female.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
