People have different ways of talking with God. I thought it would be interesting to find out what ways people use.

Good times for me are while working in the garden or driving alone on a long trip.

Hiking makes for a good heavenly chat too.

But the best is when I ride my mountain bike up the hill to Zfat.

God really clears up things for me then.

This morning for example,He showed me the positive side to tribulations.

Going uphill is a kind of physical "tribulation". While riding, there are many times I wish I could be in a nice warm bath instead

The end of the ride is a wonderfull view of God's creation, and a booster-prize, going home downhill all the way with the wind in your face.

So tribulation is there for a reason.

I also have an email address called "aba@......." where I write emails to God. It's fun. Try it

I have a few different ways I pray, Like, alone, I'll pray in words on my knees, or pray playing the guitar, sometimes sing my prayers.

At work, I pray and give God my wispered prayers, and try to keep my mind focused all day on him, I will also go on long hikes praying to the Lord

I'll type prayers in the chat room, or in an email to a friend. :P

I don't always do this but something compelled me to look "behind the scenes".... you have one amazing testimony.

Why don't you put it out there as a testimony post? It could be such an encouragement to others who are struggling in life.

God has really taken you under His wings, hasn't He?

God is good, all the time :o

God bless you both :emot-questioned:

I love going out for walks and praying. Being outside always makes me think about God.

I also love being in a church with stained glass windows to pray...I don't know why, but I guess just the ambiance always moves me to prayer. Not to mention the windows always tell a Biblical story, so I'm often moved to meditate on that story.

Actualy I have when I first started, It's been burried over the few months I've been here, and thanks  and yes God has really opened my eyes to know his grace. Without him I'd probibly be dead by now. I was dead in my transgressions, he brought me to life :taped:

Come to think of it, Messianic Jews don't seem to go for regular churches.

We have a fellowship (rather than church) in an arab village near us and the only stained glass we have is if we don't wash the windows :emot-questioned: .

From what I've seen of churches it must be quite awesome, praying there.

Having said that, it seems people get closer to God when they are outside.

Thanks for your response :)

I talk to God while driving, we have wonderful conversations. I tell him my hopes and fears, and everything that happened during the day. I think him for the good things and ask for his help in everything. He's my friend.

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

This is such a great post, hupo. My prayers are off the cuff; I talk to God wherever I happen to be when I feel the need to talk to Him. I believe that we can talk to him about anything, at any time. In fact, I probably talk more than I pray. I try not to bother Him with trivia though; if I can't find my cell phone it's not His problem! I just may try the e-mail to God thing; we know that He sees and knows all. :34:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
