I've been here for just over 4 years and been thru the riots and bombs and demos. it's quite scary here. i've signed another 2 year contract.

i feel called here, though it's quite precarious living here.

We hear lots of stories and read articles about what's been going on in Indonesia.  But, we can't know what it's like there.  Can you tell us some of your personal experiences there?  ....the school you work at ....the riots, bombs, and demonstrations you mentioned ....the Indonesian culture, etc.  What specific things can we pray on for you over there?

Pray for revival. Indonesia is the biggest muslim country in the world. Christianity is percieved as a western or ethnic chinese religion. some tribes associate isalm with their culture. They mistrust what they see as western religion that threatens their culture, community and identity. to become Christian often means ostracism.

Ethnic chinese make from 5-10 % of the indonesian population with many being Christian.  Most churches here are illegal. it takes 26 stages to get permission to have a church, yet a mosque can be built immediately. it is next to impossible to get a church legal. Christian schools are looked upon favourably. Teachers get paid from $30  at state schools to $200 a month at private schools. It's not a desirable profession for supporting a family. Expats get paid well.

Many kids become christian from christian schools, but most or nearly all the students are ethnic chinese. They however are very influential in trade and the economy. Without the ethnic chinese, the country could't operate.

pray for salvation.  pray for justice. terrorists walk away unpunished and the blame usally shifts unto a western power.  The leading muslim cleric here has accused america of the bali blasts.

Have you been to ground zero or seen a photo?  Is there a crater 5 feet deep about 20 feet across in the street?

An article I saw at CuttingEdge.org speculated the bomb was a small nuclear weapon placed in the sewer under the street.

Um.......Please find another source for your information.  Cutting Edge is a "paranoia" website.  It's all "New World Order" propaganda.  You can't seriously be trusting the information on that site, can you?

No I haven't been there recently, but before the bomb i have been past there many times. I live in Jakarta, not Bali. Jakarta is much more dangerous than Bali, believe it or not.

I know that God is in controle over this situation and something can happen anywhere, look at all those shootings this week in the States.
