Exodus 12-

I can think of one passage, where God lists a particular age above which people are responsible before Him, for the actions they take. I don't have the address right now, nor the inclination to go look it up (it's 03:30. Ya'll got Strongs Concordances of your own, don't ya'?), but it is within the Pentateuch. After Israel refuses to go into the Promised Land, God says, 'Fine! Then you will go wander in the desert for 40 years until everybody OVER 20 dies! However, those under 20--the children who do not know right from wrong--they will live." (King Leonard Paraphrased Version).

This has nothing to do with an "age of accountability." It isn't as if those who were 19.5 were totally sinless and unaccountable. The point was that those under 20 weren't making the decisions. They were the next generation. The generation that chose not to go into the land was the current one. God would not allow the current generation (save two) into the promised land.

Again this has no bearing on who is accountable for sin, but who is accountable for the particular sin of being afraid to go into the land. So they wandered, and the next generation got what was promised, and their fathers never entered the Land.

Again, these under 20, were still in sin, but they were not the ones who refused to enter, it was those over 20 who refused and were punished.

Absolutely agreed! The Bible tells us NOTHING about any 'age of accountability.' If we are looking for a passage to indicate one, it would have to be this one, and that idea is too absurd to accept.

Until a child is old enough to realize the difference between right and wrong (which is different for each child I would suppose), how could they even repent of their sins and be saved, if they didn't know they had sinned? I think there is an undefined age of accountability, because I believe a person has to know that he is a sinner and has done wrong before he can come to a saving knowledge of our Lord, and what He did for us. Babies do not know this, and very young children do not know this. When they begin to realize they did wrong, and why it's wrong, and what sin is, and especially when they begin to feel bad about it, then they are probably ready to understand what it means to be saved.
