So on the one hand, we should not warn sinners like murderers and rapists and pedophiles that they will go to hell, 'cause that just "mean," and at the same time you are also opposed to Jesus saving them and changing them into decent people and giving the eternal life so that they will no longer hurt people? If they all Jesusto change them and are saved, why shouldn't they go to heaven?

Either way we go we are wrong, according to you. If we just let them continue on without warning them ('cause it's "mean"), then they will continue hurting others. If Jesus changes them and saves them, then you are opposed to that as well, even if they stop hurting others. Frankly, your logic doesn't fly.

So, how many chances do they get exactly?

As long as you are still in this life, there is an opportunity.

I go out and blow up a daycare. Little kids die. I ask Jesus for forgiveness. Is that a nice ticket to heaven? Or was it too wrong? If so, where's the line between what you get another chance in and what you don't? And who decides that?

It is not a case of "asking for forgiveness." It is a case receiving salvation and being changed. Blowing up the daycare is a symptom of the condition of being spiritually dead and separated from God. Salvation is an inward trasnformation of the heart.

Jesus died for the murderer, for the rapist, the prostitute, and the homosexual. He gave his life and paid the penalty for thier sin before God. Jesus, on the cross, satisfied God's justice by taking upon Himself the penalty of death that hung over all of humanity.

It would not matter if you blew up a daycare or not. You might the be the most upstanding person in your community. Without Christ ALL men no matter how good or bad they appear to be will die in their sin without Christ.

Your logic doesn't fly. Jesus can't help a schizophrenic who kills every time they have an episode.
Jesus can deliver a person from from schizophrenia.

Saying someone will go to hell is not a warning. Its a scare tactic.
No, it is a warning. AND it is something you should be afraid of. You would be like the person who sees the sign in the road that says the bridge is out but refuses to stop because he won't be "scared" from continuing on.

And its used to brainwash children. They're innocent, why tell them of hell?
No one is "innocent." All men are sinners before God.

Or what about a manic-depressive who says they receive divine instructions telling them to kill?
Same as above. Jesus is far more effective than medicine.

Medicine helps that. Science helps that.
Medicine can "help." Jesus delivers people out of such thing.s

Believing in God/god has absolutely no merit in the liklihood of someone killing/raping/molesting.
You are right. But I am not talking about believing in God. I am talking about being a Christian and having the indwelling Holy Spirit.. There are lots of people nonbelievers who are not atheists. They belive in God but the reject Him anyway and choose to molest/rape children and women.

To me it is but a game to our guest, a means of passing their time. Polite only enough to hide behind it, but here to play nonetheless. Not really seeking anything, just toying with those who do have convictions and morals. Amused with themselves and their perceived cleverness . . . just a Bill Maher wanna be.

I believe God has counseled us accordingly . . .

Pr 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

So which one would apply here?

I say the first one . . . it is too way late I think for the later from what I've seen.

I would say Brother Shiloh has spoken well for the Name of the Lord who will be justified in His dealings with our guest henceforth. God in His mercies is faithful to address the fool before He answers them according to their folly. I heard it said that the best judgment is to leave such to God and their own way . . .

Yes, you are right. Thank you for reminding me.

I'm done with this one.

You know, you could just type out M-A-T-R-I-X without having to go through all that weird cryptic talk. Of course I'm not seeking, I'm a non-believer, it says so as my status. As for being a Bill Maher wannabe, I'd rather go with Christopher Hitchens. He's got more zing to him. But I'm not going to go so far to say you are all Pat Robertson/Jerry Falwell wannabes because they're frauds and you all seem like believers.

I do have morals thanks. I don't need a book to tell me what they are. I'm starting to think reason is not a defining characteristic.

I like the movies . . .so I'm trying to avoid identifying them with you. But you are correct in that I apply the verse to you.

As far as reasoning goes, you've abandon that a long time ago. Your not here seeking understanding of us . . . nor wanting to be understood. Your here only for the shock factor because it amuses you.

nuff said though . . .

No one can be saved or delivered from a mental illness like manic-depressive or schizophrenia. It takes medicine to do that.

Sure they can. God, who created us, can also fix us.

I would have to agree. I am not going to return to this thread as it is not a profitible use of my time.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
